What is eugenics?
Francis Galton originally developed eugenics and eugenics was the belief and practice on improving the genetic quality of human population. We have then two types of genetics the « positive « and « negative «. The negative were usually discriminated or even badly treated. The goal was to spread the positive genetics and make the negative genetics disappear. Eugenics was a very big thing as scientists studied them and believed that some people were smarter then others according to our colour our facial size, and were therefore measured and they assumed that white people were more clever than others.
When scientists thought that that bigger the skull was the more clever you were that and being black meant that you were not as clever, and that white people were better, this created a lot of terrible things on this earth such as Hitler killing six million Jews or in Australia where they were trying to make the aboriginal race disappear by killing them or taking them away from each other sot they could not reproduce.
Advantages of Eugenics
Eugenics has a few positive advantages, it will in a period of about fifty years or can start to limit and reduce mental and physical disabilities and can increase a better standard of intelligence caused by the food we eat and healthcare over many and many generations one after the other. It will increase desirable traits such as us humans living longer and having better memory skills. Eugenics can help us get a very intelligent race of humans by breading the best with the best to get the best genetics. This can make us more powerful, better at sport, technology and many other things.

My opinion on Eugenics
Many peoples have a very different mind on opinion on what eugenics is and if they are ethical or not. I think that eugenics is a very non-ethical thing as you start to compare humans. This often leads to holocausts such as I explained in Germany and Australia. When we start to compare and discriminate peoples we cause conflict.
Eugenics has had a very bad history, for example Hitler killing six million Jews or in Australia where the government decided to start killing the aboriginal race. Killing people that are considered « inferior « will destroy some of our species and then all humans will become the same, with very similar characteristics.
This is what eugenics has done to our nation, killing, humiliating and torturing people just because they’re different and considered as « inferior » or not genetically gifted.
The American Eugenics Movement was led by Charles Davenport and was a social agenda to breed out undesirable traits with an aim of racial purification. Eugenics was a used to breed out the worst and weakest to improve the genetic composition of the human race, and advocated for selective breeding to achieve this. The science of eugenics rested on simple mendelian genetics, which was a mistake because they were assuming complex behaviors could be reduced to simple mendelian genes. After Nazi Germany adopted the ideas behind the American eugenics movement to promote the Aryan race, the eugenics movement was completely discredited.
...e the quality of life of children. A big consequence to the use of genetic modification, shown in the movie Gattaca, is the prejudice that can be against those without genetic modifications. To create an idea of what the consequences of genetic modification will look like, a real world example would be racism and the use of eugenics to justify the prejudice against those who were not light-skinned or of caucasian descent. Neo eugenics is a very controversial topic that has a lot of possible benefits and consequences and will affect many generations to come.

Eugenic selection is when people believe that when you go and get a sonogram and the doctor notices that the baby has a disability, you should get an abortion no matter how far along you are. That is not even right. An abortion no matter how far along you are? That could be 4 weeks or even 20 weeks or more? It is just inhumane, in my opinion.
In order to accomplish its goal of producing healthier people, eugenics embraced two goals. First, it attempted to improve certain heritable qualities with the human species through selective breeding. Second, it prevented other "undesirable" qualities from recurring by either restricting reproduction or through direct removal from the gene pool.
The term eugenics was coined in the late 19th century. Its goal was to apply the breeding practices and techniques used in plants and animals to human reproduction. Francis Galton stated in his Essays in Eugenics that he wished to influence "the useful classes" in society to put more of their DNA in the gene pool. The goal was to collect records of families who were successful by virtue of having three or more adult male children who have gain superior positions to their peers. His view on eugenics can best be summarized by the following passage:
Let’s begin with racism, which dates back to as far as humans can remember. “It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another -- or the belief that another person is less than human -- because of skin color, language, customs, place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. It has influenced wars, slavery, the formation of nations, and legal codes” One of the most known acts of racism was the enslavement of Africans in the new world. This racism was a result of the racist belief that black Africans were less human than white Europeans.
Eugenics was a proposed way to improve the human species by encouraging or permitting reproduction of people with desirable genetic characteristics. Higham says, "The dazzling development of modern genetics around 1900 revealed principles of heredity that seemed entirely independent of environmental influences." (Doc 4) In Grant's "Passing of the Great Race", he claims bad gene mixture based upon differences in skin, eye color, and lack of working abilities.
The eugenics movement was a period of time when it was believe that the genes of your father and mother gave rise to any and all traits, whether it be physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, and moral. Essentially, eugenics established that all of a persons appearance, skill, and potential was rooted in your genes.
Eugenics- Eugenics is a term coined by Francis Galton in 1883 and it is the belief and practice of improving the genetic quality of the human population. This idea that one could trace hereditary problems and find solutions for them gained significant ground in addressing certain societal issues such as poor people and welfare. Two types of eugenics emerged, positive and negative, but the U.S., negative eugenics was preferred. This is the idea of destroying defectives and degenerates from the population to promote and preserve the fittest, a very social Darwinist idea. This is important to sexuality because many homosexuals were sterilized, thus creating the stigma that homosexuality was a disease that could be cured.
It was also this case, at least in part, which led to the acceptable sterilization of thousands of Americans and around 350,000 people in Nazi Germany in 1933. While there are definitely positive uses for eugenics within today's society including healthy children and a decreased population over time which would require less resources from the planet, there seem to be an outweighing of negative results in the form of forced sterilization, breaches of human rights and an overall misuse of power which could lead to a new threat on par with Nazi Germany.
The eugenics movement started in the early 1900s and was adopted by doctors and the general public during the 1920s. The movement aimed to create a better society through the monitoring of genetic traits through selective heredity. Over time, eugenics took on two different views. Supporters of positive eugenics believed in promoting childbearing by a class who was “genetically superior.” On the contrary, proponents of negative eugenics tried to monitor society’s flaws through the sterilization of the “inferior.”
Eugenics is the future of modifying the Human body naturally with no injections or experimental drugs necessary. This could lead to the best version of the human race that has walked this planet. This could make the world all of us live in a disease free world full of healthy people. According to Biograpghy.com Eugenics got
Some objections to my statements above is Eugenics. If genetic engineering were used to stop having children that had some diseases, such as down syndrome, or were deaf, then the use of genetic engineering would soon “eliminate” this grouping of people. For example if someone were having a child but wanted to be screened to see if the fetus was carrying such disease, would the parents decide to abort or to continue with the pregnancy and take care of such child with needs. But if parents wanted to see which embryo has such disease and they only want the healthy ones, would that say something about what they think about people within that community. If parents were to do that they would be seen as parents who are selfish and would not want to care for someone in need because of “how much work it is” or “how expensive” it is in order to care for such child. This is when I believe that genetic engineering should draw the line as to what it used
