My interest in medicine stems from the challenges involved in finding diagnosis of the disease. It is the diagnostic nature of pathology that attracted me to purse a career in Pathology. My interest in this field began when I was introduced to pathology during the first two year of my medical school and continued during my clinical clerkships especially during surgery and gastroenterology, these clerkships provided me a great opportunity to be involved and realize the importance of this field in clinical medicine. As a medical clerk I was responsible to get the reports of our patients biopsy samples from pathology department. The pathologist used to first show me histopathology slide under microscope and asked what did I think is the diagnosis and if it is a cancer what is the stage of cancer. Up until then the only times I …show more content…
This allows pathologists to work in a variety of clinical settings with other physicians and help them with early accurate diagnosis that requires certain qualities such as attention to details, logical thinking and to be familiar with a multitude of topics in clinical medicine and management. Although this may seem like an overwhelming task, it allows me to challenge myself on a daily basis and remain up to date with current and new innovative advancements in medicine.
During all my clinical clerkships I have witnessed the critical role of this field in other subspecialties and how dependent other specialties are to pathology. These experiences allowed me to expand my depth of knowledge in pathology and its correlation with clinical medicine collectively inspired me to want to pursue pathology actively as a career choice. I plan after successfully completing my pathology residency program to work in hospital where I have the opportunity to serve patients in underserved and rural areas, and be able to make a difference on a personal level
Choosing this field is something that has a profound connection with my personal life. Becoming a Diagnostic Medical sonographer would mean that I have accomplished life long dream. Ever since I was a little, I always wanted to be in the medical field. I have always had a big heart and wanted to help people so when I saw the important role that sonographers play in the medical field, it became clear to me that being a sonographer was exactly what I want to do with my life. In 2007 someone who was very important to me passed away due to gastric cancer. When my grandmother, who was a mother, father, and a friend to me, was diagnosed with gastric cancer my world collapsed. It was devastating news, not only for me but also for the whole family.
I want to be a physician assistant. I am interested in this career because I like how physician assistants can work in several different specialties. This will give me choices to change my specialty if I do not like the one that I originally choose. Also, I have always been a lifetime learner and I would like to try out different specialties. This will help me to gain more knowledge. After working as a physician assistant, If I decide to become a doctor then I can do that too. I love working with patients. Being a physician assistant would help me to interact more with people and will give me a chance to help others.
Born and raised by parents working in the medical field, I have always had the urge to follow up on on a health related career. Despite never being pressured into choosing scientific subjects as my academic studies, I deeply admired what a long way science has come and longed to give my contribution to this fascinating world. I am presently studying for my A-levels at St.Aloysius Sixth form in Malta, a college for high achievers.
I chose a career as a medical assistant because of the rewards I knew I would experience on a daily basis. Seeing a patient smile because I have helped them understand, or just making them feel comfortable with their visit, is just one of the many perks of my job. Upon graduating from an accredited college such as The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP), I now work for one of the most reputable hospitals in my area. Within two short years of committed studies, I obtained my associate of applied science degree, and then went on to obtain my certification as a medical assistant. There is nothing I have found more fulfilling, strong, secure, or rewarding then choosing to become a medical assistant,

The desire to help people and make a difference in the society is what attracted me to the field of medicine. As a child I was always interested in science as a subject and participated in many National Level Science competitions. I volunteered for Urban Leprosy control program, which gave me an opportunity to interact with Leprosy patients and participate in activities aimed at educating people about the disease and disease prevention. It was during this time that I had a chance to closely observe the relationship between a doctor and the patient and I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of medicine.
Interviewees Similarities One interesting similarity about the interviews is that all of them decided to go to school to become medical assistants, because it took less time than to go for a bachelor’s degree. “Many people who graduate from such programs struggle to find work. Those who do find work often make little money — too little to repay their debts from the program” (Carey, 2014). Some of the people attracted to becoming medical assistants are people with low income and no knowledge of the resources out there to get scholarships to go to universities. Once medical assistants find a job in the medical field; they gain knowledge in the world of medicine.
Pathology examines the causes and effects of diseases, James Paget was one of the founders of our modern day pathology. He was thin, with a long face and bright eyes. He was a gifted speaker with a charming personality and was known as having a great sense of humor. He liked to keep things brief and to the point and had his own famous expression, “To be brief is to be wise”. Although medical research was his passion, his side interest was solving crimes.
Medicine appeals to me as a humanistic, challenging field that offers an opportunity to help people in the most vital aspect of their lives; their health. Medicine has passionately appealed to me from my early childhood. I come from a family of doctors. My father, who is my role model, taught me two important aspects in the field of medicine: To reduce suffering & do no harm to patients. With this strong foundation, as my basis and support, entrance into a rural medical school was out of fascination for the intricate human architecture and its functioning. Being constantly in touch with the field of medicine through my father and other fellow doctors and through 6 years of medical school and rotations, I realized that Internal Medicine has evolved as mother of all branches. That is what sparked my interest in pursing a career in Internal Medicine.
The motivation to pursue Medicine as a career have been frequently presented as a few typical clichés. Some say “I’ve always known that Medicine was the career for me.” Others say “I was often sick as a child” thus “the hospital was an integral part of my life” while others use the typical “Dr. ________ changed my life and I always wanted to be just like him/ her”. While some these things ring true of my own life experience, there were numerous, sometimes unrelated things, that have influenced my decision and fueled my desire to pursue Medicine. I am particularly drawn to Internal Medicine because of its complex problem solving opportunities, emphasis on team centered adult care, and the never-ending learning opportunities it affords.
My passion for a career in Clinical laboratory science stems from a key experience with a li-censed Clinical laboratory scientist. On one day in the church , I was in dire need of help finding a job that can help me study medical in the future. For the first time I encountered professional-ism, knowledge, and humanity all at once. And this wasn’t a one-off experience. Each time I re-turned to the church, the exact same thing occurred: The Clinical laboratory scientist never seized to take the opportunity to encourage and help me knows better about the great work of Clinical laboratory scientists. From that moment, I decided to do my master in that field.
Medical interns are surgical residents working to become doctors, so their jobs are very complicated and specific, which may have conflicts along the way such as competition between workers and an overloaded schedule. When Meredith finally gets to the hospital, she walks in while the chief of surgery is giving a very extensive speech that includes the words, “The seven years you spend here as a surgical resident will be the best and worst years of your life. You will be pushed to your breaking point. Look around you, say hello to your competition.” He then also mentions to them about the stress, the long hours, the pressure, and the deaths they will be experiencing throughout the years. He ends the speech saying how
