A question that always seems to come up, asks if money can buy happiness. Many people believe that it can, but just as many say it cannot. Even though there are people who say money is the key to happiness, there are several good reasons that it isn’t. First, we must recognize the difference between comfortability, and happiness. Another key, is that memories cannot be bought. And you there is no price for love. Next is the use of excess income. And how it is used to show off the amount someone makes. Another key example is the inability to buy someone’s happiness, or memories. Money can however buy time in a way. It can even make someone happy, when used appropriately. These are things that are made with friends and family, not something that can be purchased. Money cannot buy the bond of a loved one or close friend. You cannot simply buy a memory. You have to spend time with that person, and make a personal connection with them. There is no value to spending time, and getting to know someone. And money cannot make the process any more enjoyable. Another problem with this, is that parents will undoubtedly try to buy their kids’ love. It happens far too often, a couple will get a divorce, leaving the child in between. One parent will get custody, while the other has limited visitation. This is where the money comes in as the limited parent will spoil their child in attempt to buy their love. All this does is cause distress for the child, as they do not know how this is morally wrong of their parents. Although money cannot buy happiness, it can buy time. This is as close as it gets to the real thing. If time just isn’t available, then that’s where money comes in. simple tasks can be taken care of by hiring people to complete them. Simple things such as lawn care, or a housekeeper. The list goes on, but all that time freed up can now be given to those you care about. It is highly debated, but ultimately incorrect. The closest correlation found on this topic was in a study conducted by Stanford, an Ivy League business school. With their findings, we can concur that the only way money can make someone truly happy, is by spending it in constructive ways to help others. With that, it is safe to say that if someone finds themselves unsatisfied with their live and wealth, that they could use it for the greater good. They should put it into charities, or as simple as buying a friend a meal. Whatever it may be, use the money for others. And that is really how money can buy
