There must be a better way, perhaps, an easier way. Throughout the history, many great inventions are born from laziness with the desire of convenience. As such, the wheels are invented to eliminate the need to move objects from pulling or carrying. Laziness takes place in many parts of the human development. Lazy people are more creative and often come up with innovative ideas because they have more free time. Whether it is the way our body is structured or the inventions that we created, there is laziness that is involved in it. Laziness gives individuals the time to think of inventions which no one has thought about before. Although laziness is a bad habit, it is one of the key factors that helps society to efficiently progress.

Bill Gates once said, “I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it” ("Choose a Lazy Person”). Transportations such as cars, trains, and planes were invented to meet our desire of convenience. Those inventions are not considered a need in our life, but instead a want for a faster and better method of traveling. To put it differently, people want an alternative way to travel than the already existing methods. They wanted a lazier way. “All of the biggest technological inventions created by man - the airplane, the automobile, the computer - says little about his intelligence, but speaks volumes about his laziness” (Kennedy). When a person spend time doing nothing, but thinking. In Csikszentmihalyi 's book Creativity, he wrote “I think that it is very important to be idle. I mean, they always say that Shakespeare was idle between plays. I am not comparing myself to Shakespeare, but people who keep themselves busy all the time are generally not creative. So I am not ashamed of being idle” (Koski). Idle does not mean doing absolutely nothing and wasting valuable time. It means to focus towards something with dedication, not rushing, or not feeling overwhelmed. Being lazy allows one to think, and to think creatively.
