The Beekman store was Mr. Pignati favorite place to go shopping with Conchetta back in the days and he wants his two teenagers friend to see what it's like. "Mr.Pignati started getting excited when we got inside with all those Saturday shoppers"(81)."You could tell right off he was going to show us around as though he owned the place"(81). They first went to a fancy food store and Mr. Pignati started buying anything type of food John and Lorraine wanted. The way Mr. Pignati treated and wanting to buy all the food, clothes, and shoes at the Beekman for Lorraine and John was like as if they were his son and daughter. Mr. Pignati also bought them roller skates and John and Lorraine riding their skates along with him made the old man's day very fun and got him to act like a kid. "Wait for me," Mr. Pignati yelled, carrying his skate under his arm and laughing along with us"(88). The two teenagers feelings for the old man became very close and their friendship was really amazing because they were like a

Even kids from school wanted to hang out with Rufus. However, he only allowed them if they helped him make toothpaste. When Kate returns from the auction, she goes to the factory where the toothpaste tubes were made. The factory had been shut down and was up for rent for $17,000. Rufus and Kate did not have enough money at the time. They went to Everyone’s Friendly Savings to get a loan for the rent. The teenagers look at Freddie thinking he really has some major problems and could use some medical help, psychological for sure. Walking away, they put a distance between them not wanting any trouble. Goss argues that developers and designers of the built environment, specifically shopping centers and malls, use the power of place and understanding the structural layout of the space to boost consumption of the retail profits. Shopping centers are separated from the downtown area of shopping either by distance and/or design. These establishments emerge for many to be the new heart and location for public and social life. In his article The "Magic of the Mall": An Analysis of Form, Function, and Meaning in the Contemporary Retail Built Environment, Goss also argues that the regulation of the spaces within the mall creates an atmosphere of "community" rather than one that is "public".
Many people have at least one favorite place in this world and for me, it can be as simple as going to another state to reach it. After all, this state that appears to be a chef's hat, is only above the state I live in. Minnesota is known for its alluring beauty, heart-stirring theme park, and the Mall of America where many from all over would go to. It's also the state known for having no taxes for clothing and even on food. So what is there not to like about the Minnesota state?

I stopped. “What was that for?” “I was just giving credit where credit was due.” He slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a rather large ring. “You knew the whole time?!?” “Yeah when we and Matt moved the desk it fell out and I picked it up, I was waiting to give it back until DeCostia got busted.” “Oh my god…” “Anyway, what are we doing tonight? Movies, ice-cream, maybe some pizza?” “We’re hanging out tonight?” “Yeah I have to hang out with my girlfriend to celebrate the undermining of our psycho home wrecking teacher.” “Your girlfriend?” “Yeah...” He said into my hair as he put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him “Who else would I hang with tonight?”
