Importance of EMT Training and Courses The purpose of EMT training and courses: Emergency medical technician training is all about providing a great career opportunity to the students, who want to build their future in the rapidly growing healthcare industry in all over the world. Unlike the other occupations or studies, EMT training is a short period course in comparison with other medical degree courses. Many students are interested in EMT training but they are slightly getting confused between EMT courses and paramedics’ courses for a better career opportunity. EMT training and paramedics, both are involved in medical training but they are two different courses. EMT training is a primary stage of learning, where students can learn to handle,
The roles and responsibilities of an EMT is to be on time to the job and have a positive attitude when you come to work. EMTs work with different, that have very different attitudes and people sometimes aren’t that nice in the ambulance and sometimes, if not most of the time, can or are very rude so I have to be ready to deal with all types of people while I’m on the job. EMTs have to know what type of care to give the victim weather it is giving an IV or simply taking blood. They have to know all these things.
My topic that I am researching is a Radiology Technician. Basically, their job is to help Physicians take x-rays and to help them out with the readings. They also perform cat scans, ultrasounds, and radiation therapy. This article informs the reader of the job duties and occupational specialties. It tells them what they need to be able to do, such as noticing detail and clearly communicating. It also provides them with educational and preparation opportunities. The training is provided and the work environment is in mainly hospitals or, if you are in combat, a mobile field hospital (#10). They need to be physically ready, able and willing to perform their duties. They have to be very alert and vigilant in trying to study and notice the very in depth detail of the images they produce. Radiologist Technicians have a very small field of workplaces they may be at. If they are combat, such as military, they will be in what is called a mobile hospital field. Here, they may tend to and care for the soldiers who have fallen in battle because of a wound or any other difficulties within the body. They may work in a more common space, such as a physician or hospital room. Regardless of where they may work, they will always have a major part in the workforce. Now, lets talk about the equipment they use. One of the many different types of equipment they use is called a Computed Tomography, what this does is it allows technicians to produce many cross-sectioned images of the body. They can use these readings and images to comprehend the problem or problems that are associated with their patient. Next, we have the Sonography equipment,or the ultrasound equipment. This piece of equipment uses high frequency waves to view internal organs and musc...
A paramedic’s work is physically challenging as well as emotionally stressful, sometimes involving suffering patients and life threatening situations. Elizabeth Mesick, EMT-P, Guilford County Emergency Services, states, “…although the work is very stressful, it’s exciting and I enjoy the opportunity to help people. This position is very rewarding and I would recommend it to others who have a passion for helping people and a strong stomach.”
...ents also joined together in a resolution to expand into EMS. Proposed in 1993, EMT Physicians assumed a bigger role in primary care of non-emergency patients by learning a wide variety of new skills. In 1996, the EMS Agenda for the future was made, further connecting Emergency Medical Services to other medical professions.
While walking to school one day Florida sophomore Jalen Lee came upon a woman who wasn’t breathing. Thanks to training Lee received during his high school’s first aid class he knew just what to do. Lee administered CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and possibly saved the woman’s life. CPR training in high schools has helped countless students around the country save the lives of friends, loved ones, and strangers. Providing CPR training to all students will save even more lives.

Several years, colleges, and majors later I found myself still without a gut-felt direction. On a whim I decided to go to EMT school. It was there that I was finally introduced to the healthcare field and loved it at once. After finishing the program I worked the 911 system and also took a job as a patient care technician in a pediatric emergency department. I quickly saw that the hospital setting was where I wanted to be and that I had to become a nurse. That I did, and haven't left the emergency department since!
To achieve a degree in Athletic Training, there are many tasks and skills to be learned. The Education Council under the National Athletic Training Association put together an education program filled with a set of guidelines of what has to be taught to graduate with a degree in Athletic Training. Before you can learn and understand Athletic Training, you must know the Anatomy and Physiology of the human body. This includes bones, muscles, levels of organization, tissue levels, systems of the body, skeletal structure, articulations, integrative functions, sensory function, blood, and embryology (Martini, 2001). Besides Anatomy and Physiology, the methods of taping is also extremely critical to this career. Before you can understand what each taping techniques are used for, you must also know about sports injuries. Athletic Training is all about the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and evaluation of athletic injuries. Another skill that must be learned in the Athletic Training Education Program is how to provide immediate emergency care. That includes everything from background information to actually being able to save an athlete’s or any one else’s life. You must be aware of legal considerations, how and when to approach a victim, the human body systems, examining the victim, basic life support, bleeding and shock, identifying wounds, sudden illnesses, injuries, and how to care for them; also you must be aware of cold and heat related injuries, and how to rescue and move victims (Thygerson, 2001). Other information to be learned includes nutrition, health, and professional development. There are several other topics of Athletic Training; however, there are just to many to s...
On the 7th of March in 2018, I attended the Community experience with the EMS team at Fire station of area one. This station is located at the northeastern corner of nine mile road. Upon arrival I introduce myself to the team. Every member of the team was presented in a professional manner that included: one’s skills, education, and the years of experience. During the meeting, several subjects were discussed such as: nursing student’s objective from this experience, Clarifying tasks and tactics, protocols and daily operations. All the tasks were executed with each member of the team with integrity, honesty and beneficence to the warren community. During the twelve hours shift, there
As the study continues on, it is getting more and more interesting. more and more I am imagining how it was to have been Lia living with such a difficult and unpredictable condition. I thought that the EMT took very good care of Lia during the "big one". They provided advance life support care as they would to any other patient. Focusing on airway, breathing, and circulation. When they noticed that they were having too much difficulty to manage Lia in the ambulance, the driver was asked to speed up and to go to head to MCMC on code 3, which is described in the chapter as the most emergent code. Although the nurses have noticed Lia history as a frequent flyer, they still proceeded to providing the best care that they could to her. Giving her
In order to become a paramedic, you’ll need to become EMT certified and also be CPR certified (How to Become a Paramedic). You can obtain these certifications in a year or two through a community college. Once you have completed these, the next step is to find a paramedic program (How to become a Paramedic). Some paramedic programs will only accept you if you’ve worked as an EMT for a minimum of six months (What are the Requirements).
Philosophically the term emergency medical service has developed to represent a transition from a simplistic system of vehicles delivering only transportation, to a system by which certified medical care is provided on scene and during transport. However in some less developed regions, emergency vehicles are still fundamentally a means of transportation to the medical facility that will provide care.
Having to comply with the Emergency Medical System workers was our biggest obstacle. My research paper featured an interview where I was able to meet separately with an EMT at a school event; however, getting a hold of an EMT or paramedic while at work was difficult. There were not
I started to explore the different fields of medicine by working as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department, ER tech in Trauma Centers, getting involved in research, volunteering at hospitals and taking high level science classes. This will enhance my knowledge and experience i...
