Emotions of Afghanistan

Confucius once said, “Emotions are the beast of man, emotions are the happiness of man.” He tries to explain what humans are capable of from our personal emotions, and what these emotions can cause us to do. Throughout the ages authors have tried to use these emotions to express themes and ideas they believe in for their audience to understand. Khaled Hosseini is one of these certain authors who wrote the book The Kite Runner to portray the emotional struggles of characters that can connect to our life. In the movie version of The Kite Runner, the significant emotions- love, jealousy, and wrath- created in the book version by the characters from their struggles to live their lives are only slightly hinted on; this lack of development destroys the theme- during times of commitment and struggles, strong emotions are created to guide us toward what we believe will give us satisfaction- which the author tries to create with imagery, detail, and diction in the book to allow us to understand the actions the characters commit.
Jealousy is a despicable feeling, which will guide our actions toward ways to benefit our desires, even if we harm those close to us, similar to what Amir did to Hassan. A main point that develops in the book was how different the physical capabilities between Amir and Hassan are to the extent of Baba judges Amir badly because of his physical incapability, causing Amir to be jealous of Hassan, “Hassan ran faster than I did, and I was falling behind.” (53) This kind of jealousy requires the development of a period of time in order to be fully affective for the audience to understand. ...hough it is possible that this feeling can assist us in deciding the future, it can be a curse that could drain all we have left.
The Kite Runner was written to express the theme- during times of commitment and struggles, strong emotions are created to guide us toward what we believe will give us satisfaction-for us to understand; when the movie version was produced, these ideas were disrupted and changed for a different purpose, only slightly hinted on for theme’s original meaning. Within our lives, our choices and actions are based on these biased feeling for satisfying our hunger of what we wish for and what we believe in. These selfish thoughts allow us to better ourselves to achieve or overcome the goals we set for ourselves to reach fulfillment. Humanity cannot progress without a greedy drive to grasp the future and to exceed the limits that stand in our way.
