I read the poem “Bloom- is Result- to meet a Flower” by Emily Dickinson three times in order to fully understand the meaning. The first time I read the poem I read it silently as I did research. The second time, I read it out loud in order to make sure I didn’t miss any details. The final time, I read the poem I wrote it out to get write as if I was the poet to understand her writing better. The first time I read it, it took me fifteen minutes because I was looking up words and taking down notes. The second time, it took me five minutes because I read some confusing lines more than once. The final time, it took me ten minutes to rewrite the poem. The poem wasn’t difficult, but some of the words choice by Dickinson was complicated and I had to stop to look up the meanings in order to make sense of the poem. …show more content…

The words I stopped to look up were intricately, elude and profound. Even though I knew what these words meant for the most part, I stopped to look up the words in the context of the poem. I noticed that Dickinson was taking us through the life of a flower in a way. As I read more into the poem I noticed that she was trying to say that a flower may look like it has an easy life, just sitting and being beautiful, but in actuality, the life of a flower is complicated and full of responsibilities and jobs that need to be done in order to
