Electric Cars The technology of electric cars has been around since the beginning of the nineteenth century but soon disappeared as the gasoline-powered engine took the limelight. It took until the seventies with oil prices at new heights that electric cars even became considered as an alternative. The main reasons the public identifies electric cars to be unattainable is because of their high cost and limited capabilities. In the early developing stages electric cars were extremely costly, basic, and so limited from a technical standpoint that many people thought buying a golf cart would be more practicable. Unfortunately, these prejudgments made many people blind to the vast improvement electric cars have made over the years. Their improvements have much to do with that major auto manufactures such as General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, and Tesla Motors producing high-performance electric vehicles. With major manufacturing companies continuing improvements on electric car engineering, the future of commuting automobiles has become electric. The world is changing with an environmental crisis ahead changes must be made. As most Americans wish for a future generation our choice in vehicles will be reevaluated. With the growing air pollution throughout the United States, potential pollutant health risks have reached dangerous heights, especially for children’s health. With a study done by The American Academy of Pediatrics, revealed eleven million U.S. children live in areas that exceed one or more federal air quality standards, with that number still growing (The). Air pollution is a real thing; staying at this same pace the future effects air pollution will have on the world will be catastrophic. By the early 1900’s, automobiles had become a common sight on the roads of the United States. Edison tried to create an electric battery that could power an electric car. Due to the abundant availability of gasoline, the electric car did not receive the response that Edison hoped for. However, the car battery was a huge success, and still plays a pivotal role in the automobile industry.
The 1996 documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? explores the factors behind the demise of General Motors’ EV1, the popular and elusive electric car of the early 1990’s. The EVI was popular with the public, and it was clean, fast and efficient. This video sets out to solve what is effectively a murder mystery – the plug was pulled on the EV1 in 2002 after only 1,000 of these cars had been produced by GM, most of which were subsequently destroyed by the company in a secret location in the Arizona desert.

The future American commuter will undoubtedly have to transition from the use of fossil fuels to new alternatives due to the diminishing availability of the nation’s oil resources. How will America respond to this upcoming issue? It is difficult to predict which alternative fuel source America will ultimately choose, but with the premier of Nissan’s electric powered Leaf and other companies; such as Tesla Motors and Chevy, with their electric cars ready for market, the electric car may be winning the race to become the new standard for the gasoline alternative. Electric cars resolve long standing environmental issues, but it will need to maneuver around many roadblocks to become a marketable consideration for the general public. The cost of electric cars, currently on the market, makes them an impractical purchase for the average consumer. If cost is not the growing concern in today’s economy which prevents the consumer from considering this option; they may deny the technological advance due to battery storage capabilities and the inadequate infrastructure in place to refuel and provide for them.

Well, now, using fairly new technologies, trying to use, whenever possible, the latest in battery to have longer life, faster recharging or more energy density, and especially because still made very few electric motors for cars, traction batteries for cars, car chargers ... etc., the manufacturing cost of an electric car is greater than that of a conventional
Annotated Bibliography: Self-Sustaining Electric Cars With the growing issue of climate change, people have been trying to be more green than in the past. One attempt to curb the effects of climate change is to use electric cars because these cars use electricity instead of gasoline, therefore have no emissions. The power still comes from somewhere though. In Spokane, electric cars are green because most of the electricity is hydroelectric, but in other places where large rivers aren’t commonplace, electricity is provided by burning coal and other fossil fuels.
“In 1912 an electric roadster was $1,750 while a gas car was $650”, stated Cadie Thompson. Electric cars were not paid any attention to when more efficient vehicles were made. In spite of being tucked into the corner, battery cars were reintroduced again when a large global problem arose. Pollution led to the
Today, people use their own personal vehicles to travel more than ever before. Personal transportation is no longer considered a luxury; it is now considered a necessity. The number of cars in the United States has been growing steadily since the 1970s. The number of miles traveled by cars has risen nearly 150 percent, yet the United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that time (hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Although it may seem like we are advancing into the future, in reality, we are moving backwards from the effects these vehicles have on our bodies and the environment. The pollution produced by these vehicles has brought us to the day where we must find other modes of transportation that cause less harm to the world in which we live. Advances in technology have developed hybrid vehicles to try and slow down the amount of pollution. Driving a hybrid vehicle, instead of a conventional gas powered vehicle, can reduce the amount of pollution that affects our lives and the environment around us.
Tesla's has new car battery technology. Tesla's new battery may help climate change. Most of greenhouse gases are from cars, airplanes, and boats. Tesla is trying to make people think that electric cars will be the key to climate change but they will also are trying to get money. The sales are going
The main theme in this article is how Tesla’s innovations are transforming the auto industry. The company has innovated and produced desirable electric cars like Model X doors. The proponent of this argument hold that the losses that Tesla has had are just short run and hold that Tesla is producing extremely needed electric automobiles. These vehicles have fast speed and go long distance over other rechargeable cars (Gregersen, 2016).
The real-life Tony Stark is revolutionizing the car industry. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has started building all electric cars and SUVs and they are taking over the electric vehicle market. Although electric vehicles have been around for a while, Elon Musk and Tesla are the first to create an attractive car that gets fantastic range. Previous electric cars had odd proportions, did not get good range, or were unreasonably priced. Tesla now offers a solution to these issues. With an increase in government regulation and environmental awareness, electric vehicles are growing in popularity; Tesla is and will continue to be the leader in electric vehicles because of their innovation, technological advancements, and brand recognition among the population.
The main problem with switching to electric vehicles are the efficiency, dependability, and cost of owning one. Average middle class consumers aren't going to want to

There is no doubt that electric cars are the most appealing from of transportation in the world. They provide two of the most important key points of good transportation: reliable and efficient. They are reliable due to their simplicity of their power trains and the advancement of technology they have. They are efficient because they don't use any gasoline and because their motors can pass the zero-emission standard. Even though they may seem like a boring form of transportation, they offer good features that help keep the Earth's air clean and they help reduce pollution.
