Evolution of human race mirrors the use of machines and technology. The humans started with the use of simple tools and machines and have demonstrated their ability to adapt to the usage of complex machines like computers. In today’s society, use of technology has become integral part of human life. Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One, is staged in a society where virtual technology has taken over human life. Technology in Ready Player One has affected the human nature in many aspects. To begin, the book Ready Player One portrays a dystopian society in the year 2045. Where every citizen has abandoned the real world because of their inability to cop up with the challenges to survive. For that reason, they have switched to virtual world where life is very smooth and easy. Wade (known as Parzival in the game) the protagonist in the book states “I never wanted to return to the real world. Because the real world sucked” ( ) OASIS, the game everyone plays in ready Player One has attracted one’s attentions, so much that the people are enjoying the virtual world and hating the actual one. On the other hand, there are few good effects of virtual technology. In the book, the school system was moved online and now it was easier for teachers to teach.
