At 2215 hrs, on November 28, 1942, Fire Alarm Headquarters from Box 1514, situated at Stuart and Carver streets, received an alarm. When the responding apparatus arrived they found a small car fire at the corner of Stuart Street and Broadway. After the fire was extinguished the firefighters were about to return to quarters when their attention was called to smoke emanating from the Cocoanut Grove Nightclub a few doors away. Upon their arrival at the entrance of the Broadway lounge on Broadway they encountered numerous people leaving the premises admidst the cries of “fire”. The chief in charge immediately ordered that a third alarm be sounded from Alarm Box 1521 which the alarm was received by fire alarm headquarters at 2223 hrs. More police officers doesn’t mean less crime because many of the crimes committed such as burglary, robbery, auto theft, larceny and vandalism which are preventable cannot be prevented if the response time is too slow. Even though more officers were on the job, even the fasted response had little influence of crime since the crime reports made came a significant time after the actually occurrence ,therefore flawing even the fastest police response.

The non-profit organization that I researched is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. They have spent the last 40 years educating people who live near the Chesapeake Bay or near one of its tributaries on things that need to be done in order to create a safe habitat for the aquatic and terrestrial life living near these waters and creating healthier, cleaner water within the bay.
Most of this region’s history meshes with the history of the Delmarva Peninsula. Originally, when the English colonies were established, it was and the original focal point at the time, Chesapeake Bay, were part of the Virginia colony. However, the term Eastern Shore became a more common term to use because of everything was to the east of the peninsula.
Chesapeake Bay is known to be an extremely complex living system, and has been greatly disturbed over the past years. But there's been a problem around this watershed the past couple of years. The health of the Bay has been on a downward roll, and something is needed to be done in order to halt it. There have been multiple different attempts to try and reverse the damage that has been done. But, what has made the Bay get to this point; why is it important to restore; and what can be done to fix the health of Chesapeake Bay?
Hot spot policing is based on the idea that some criminal activities occur in particular areas of a city. According to researchers crime is not spread around the city instead is concentrated in small places where half of the criminal activities occur (Braga chapter 12). Also, many studies has demonstrated that hot spots do show significant positive results suggesting that when police officers put their attention on small high crime geographic areas they can reduce criminal activities ( Braga, papachristo & hureau I press). According to researchers 50% of calls that 911 center received are usually concentrated in less than 5% of places in a city (Sherman, Gartin, & Buerger, 1989; Weisburd, Bushway, Lum, &Yang, 2004). That is the action of crime is often at the street and not neighborhood level. Thus police can target sizable proportion of citywide crime by focusing in on small number of high crime places (see Weisburd & Telep, 2010). In a meta-analysis of experimental studies, authors found significant benefits of the hot spots approach in treatment compared to control areas. They concluded that fairly strong evidence shows hot spots policing is an effective crime prevention strategy (Braga (007) .Importantly, there was little evidence to suggest that spatial displacement was a major concern in hot spots interventions. Crime did not simply shift from hot spots to nearby areas (see also Weisburd et al., 2006).
Analysis of “The Open Boat” In 1897 acclaimed writer Stephen Crane boarded a freighter commissioned to smuggle weapons and munitions to Cuba. He was to document the journey, but quickly after departure, the freighter sank. The literary classic "The Open Boat", which Crane penned after surviving this disaster, had nothing to do with the intended purpose of the voyage, but instead focused on the will of man versus nature and is the greatest short story of Naturalistic literature. Protagonists carry a great significance in Naturalism( ).
A significant portion of the Coast Guard is not required to maintain any physical fitness standard. Requiring boatcrew members and law enforcement personnel to pass the physical fitness test; it puts a burden on the members for the extra time to maintain this standard. To change the current boat crew physical fitness test to a Coast Guard wide physical fitness test. It would benefit the Coast Guard and start to create a healthier lifestyle. The Coast Guard should require all members to pass the boat crew physical fitness standards.
The maritime transport is the backbone of the globalization and the international trade as over of 80%of world merchandise is transported by sea. This infrastructure system is a key to other sectors and business activities like ship manufacturing, fisheries, banking, insurance, transport and tourism. With this great impact a sustainability program should be addressed highlighting relevant issues for sustainable development.
The Tempest by Shakespeare is his most fanciful of works. There are elaborate tricks and ideas that Shakespeare has put into play. That’s what many might see on the surface when reading The Tempest for the first time. But what some might be able to explore when digger deeper into the work, is the theme of colonization that Shakespeare bestows upon his characters.

Annual average of 220,000 ships dork at this harbor for both commercial and tourism purposes. Victoria Harbor, situated in Kowloon, Hong Kong had been renowned as the world’s busiest port serving as export and import hub of Hong Kong. Located in the South China Sea, Victoria Harbor provides the resting ground for the worn out sea sailors traveling across this sea. Tourists of Hong Kong can witness the most famous night view from this port where Hong Kong’s famous tall sky scrapers are lined up and lit bright along the shores of the port. Especially on the second night of the Chinese New Year when the annual fireworks are exhibited.
PROVING ‘PERILS OF THE SEA’ The burden of proof as regards proving damages caused due to perils of the sea is always on the insurer. The insurer has to prove on a balance of probabilities that the ship was lost or damaged as the case may be, due to perils of the sea. The Courts in various cases have stated that the mere proof of incursion of seawater into the insured vessel leading to its demise, is not sufficient to prove the presence of ‘perils of the sea’.
