CBA People from all around the world more than 52,404 die per day from drugs. Around 10:30 Pm on january 16th, a man decided to take drugs days before killing his girlfriend with a metal pole and rock. Making her teeth into a necklace. Drugs could be very harmful to people around you and your family. Many people are involved in the “Drug War” like the military, and congress. This ties into the constitution. Drugs are important because this affects how people think, and do in there everyday lives. Should we allow drugs, or should we ban them? I believe that we should ban them from the united states before they do any more harm. For many cases drugs could be helpful for people who are inneed of them. help people with anxiety or medical reasons. Really fast or active brains are a friend to drugs, when it comes to making it slow down and feel peace. GateWay Foundation treatment, author of “Effects of drugs Abuse and Addiction” explains why drugs could be harmful. “Drugs cause our emotions, motivation and feelings of pleasure, to flood the brain to rise” (GateWay, recovergateway.org). Eventually, drugs can change how the brain works and interfere with a person's ability to make choices, leading to intense cravings to drug use. I believe that this should be stopped. Today more than seven million people suffer from a drug disorder, and one in four deaths results from illicit drug use.
In fact, more deaths, illnesses and disabilities are from effects of drugs abuse from than from any other health condition. People suffering from durg and alcohol addiction also have a higher risk of injuries, accidents and violence incidents. DrugWise, author of “what are the dangers from using drugs explains more about drugs. “The drug but is everything connected with the drug and how it is used. The set bit is everything connected with the person and who is using the drugs. The setting bit is about what the person is doing at the time, where they are, and the environment they live in” (DrugWise, drugwise.org.uk). I believe that drugs should be taken away or until people are allowed to use drugs is until the of 50 years of age. Except if is for people who have medical …show more content…
reasons. Our individual rights today is in the Ninth Amendment are the freedoms to use alcohol and to medicate oneself. I believe or disagree with the individual right because people today abuse there use of drugs. Also drugs and drinking is that you are allowed to drink at age 21, with parent supervision, and medical reasons. Other reasons why drugs are an issue is because drugs are ruining people's Freedoms, prisons and jails are being overloaded with criminals from drugs. Which then increases the taxes on the law abiding citizens. There is increasing criminal activities in and out of prison, including riots and disruption within prison walls. When the government has to build more prisons for the drugged criminals, then the honest law abiding people need to pay more taxes to afford the prisons. Avalon Malibu, author of “Addiction can take your money” also explains why drugs can ruin your life. “It takes money every day, a few times a day or more, to keep up an addiction. Illegal drugs can be costly. Having to avoid symptoms of withdrawal and detox means having to stay high all day, which means a lot of money on drugs”. I believe that drugs do ruin peoples lives everyday. Furthermore, some people think differently about drugs.
A person convicted of a drug offence will receive a criminal record and this can lead to difficulties in getting a job, credit or visas for overseas travel. Fees that could go from 8,000$ to 80,000$. Homelessness, divorce, cancer, Sexually-Transmitted Diseases – up to 1 in 5 females and up to 1 in 9 males, Shortened lifespan – a reduction of over 7 years, and overdose –the #1 cause of accidental deaths in America. There is at least 107 ways that drugs could ruin your life. But they people who take drugs do not think this. They think drugs could feel really good or they are just trying to be cool like there friends. For instance, Maxwell Berna says. ¨Typically it’s because they stimulate our minds to work in ways we never thought possible, and enhance the positive feelings at a party, making it seem more fun. And their role in America’s peace and love movement… In short: a lot of people love ‘em¨. Drugs make the person think they are being cool around there friend, and others. Another reason people take drugs is drugs take away the bad memoirs or make you feel calm and good inside. Other reasons is that people use it for medical reasons and they could say it has help them live. I believe that drugs do not help the person get any better, for an example, you take a sip you are in the sky high above the clouds, and then you fall, and you take more to get back to the wonderful view above the
clouds. A hundred and seven way to ruin your life, not worth it. This always goes back to the constitution with the drug war. My call to action, is protest peacefully, send and make apps on how drugs are harmful to people around us and too YOURSELF. Everyone you meet say that drugs are evil, and drugs will not help you if you take it. Explain that it could ruin your life 107 ways.
That being said, drugs and alcohol, can cause ones to lose their lifestyle and even their loved ones. Using and abusing drugs and alcohol can also lead to addiction. This creates a whole different empire in one’s life. Some may even steal, lie and cheat, just to obtain their ability to get there next fix. Sometimes getting their next fix can even create a door way to putting them in jail or prison. Even to the point of no return, this could create the loss of one’s own
Drug use has been an ongoing problem in our country for decades. The use of drugs has been the topic of many political controversies throughout many years. There has been arguments that are for legalizing drugs and the benefits associated with legalization. Also, there are some who are opposed to legalizing drugs and fear that it will create more problems than solve them. Conservatives and liberals often have different opinions for controversial topics such as “the war on drugs,” but it is necessary to analyze both sides in order to gain a full understanding of their beliefs and to decide in a change in policy is in order.
Typically, almost everyone in the world has taken drugs at some point in their life. Whether it be over the counter medication or prescription drugs. People get sick, they have illness, allegories, sexually transmitted diseases or other aches and pains. As you may already know, there is medication for each aforementioned problem. This is called drug use, which is using drugs for its intended purpose. However, the real dilemma happens when people began to misuse and abuse drugs.
The war on drugs in our culture is a continuous action that is swiftly lessening our society. This has been going on for roughly 10-15 years and has yet to slow down in any way. Drugs continue to be a problem for the obvious reason that certain people abuse them in a way that can lead to ultimate harm on such a person. These drugs do not just consist of street drugs (marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy), but prescription medications as well. Although there are some instances where drugs are being used by subjects excessively, there has been medical research to prove that some of these drugs have made a successful impact on certain disorders and diseases.

Drug use is not healthy for the body because it not only affects the user, but that person’s potential spouse and children. Drugs have a long-term affect on the body, causing illnesses that can last a long time. “…because of their intoxicating effect on the brain, damaging impact on the body, adverse impact on behavior, and potential for abuse. Their use threatens the health…of users and nonusers alike” (Hartnett #4). Other such illnesses are cancer and heart disease these illnesses can be fatal and have caused a number of deaths.
Recreational drug use has been controversial for years. Government has deemed the use of certain drugs to be dangerous, addictive, costly, and fatal. Governmental agencies have passed laws to make drugs illegal and then have focused a great deal of attention and money trying to prohibit the use of these drugs, and many people support these sanctions because they view the illegality of drugs to be the main protection against the destruction of our society (Trebach, n.d.). Restricting behavior doesn’t generally stop people from engaging in that behavior; prohibition tends to result in people finding more creative ways to obtain and use drugs. However, just knowing that trying to control people’s behavior by criminalizing drug use does not work still leaves us looking for a solution, so what other options exist? This paper will discuss the pros and cons about one option: decriminalizing drugs.
Should drugs be legalized ? Drugs are resources that are capable of affecting theAmerican economy in many
Drug abuse and addiction are issues that affect people everywhere. However, these issues are usually treated as criminal activity rather than issues of public health. There is a conflict over whether addiction related to drug abuse is a disease or a choice. Addiction as a choice suggests that drug abusers are completely responsible for their actions, while addiction as a disease suggests that drug abusers need help in order to break their cycle of addiction. There is a lot of evidence that suggests that addiction is a disease, and should be treated rather than punished. Drug addiction is a disease because: some people are more likely to suffer from addiction due to their genes, drug abuse brought on by addictive behavior changes the brain and worsens the addiction, and the environment a person lives in can cause the person to relapse because addiction can so strongly affect a person.
Do drugs really cause crime, or is it our governments way of controlling the communities? Many people blame drugs for every problem in our society, but is it the true evil in our society? No one person can answer that question. There are only opinions and supposed theories on this issue. We have been taught over the years that drugs were bad and that they only affected the poor and less fortunate, and turned them into crazy criminals, but this isn’t true to any extent. The laws controlling and prohibiting drugs are the true reasons. Would our crime levels decline if drugs were legalized to some extent, or would we just increase the destruction of our country? Over the past fifty years, prohibition has been proven to actually increase crime and drug use instead of its intended purpose, which was to extinguish the use of illicit drugs in the United States. We constantly here of prison over crowding, and why is that? Most of our prisons are filled with drug offenders, ranging from use to distribution of supposed illicit drugs. What is our country coming to? The purpose of this research paper is to view the advantages and disadvantages of the legalization of illicit drugs in the United States. I will examine each side of this major problem plaguing our fine country from past to present. People wake everyday to their normal and monotonous life without even thinking about what they are doing. They do not realize that they have been conditioned by the government and its laws to obey and follow the supposed norm of society. What is the norms of society, and who set the guidelines for them? No one can explain how these norms came about, they only know that they must follow them, or they could get in trouble with the law. We are going into the twenty first century, and we still follow laws that were passed hundreds of years ago. Why is this? We are a highly advanced country, but we spend time, lives and money on abiding by laws that were around before the automobile was even invented. I will begin with the history of our drug control policies, which have failed miserably, and examine the drug-crime connection. Policy History Drugs have been in this country since the beginning of time in some shape or form, which was used for personal and medicinal use. Usage of marijuana has been reported to date back to the founding of Jamestown (1). Ge...
America is wasting it’s money and resources. It’s trying restrict something on which restrictions don’t have any effects: drugs. People who don’t use recreational drugs don’t do so because of the health risks; people who do use drugs would whether or not they are legal. The fact that they are illegal makes little difference. Nevertheless, $15,000,000,000 goes directly into drug prohibition every year, and has very little effect. Very much money is spent to pay police narcotics officers, fund the D.E.A., and house drug-offenders in prison. The prisons are full of drug-related criminals, and violent offenders go free earlier because of this. Which would you prefer walking the streets, a rapist, or a potsmoker?
Mentioned before, drug usage can lead to many health problems. Different drugs cause different health impacts, but nonetheless, they are all analogous in their effects. It can weaken the immune system which will increase susceptibility to infections, can cause cardiovascular conditions ranging from abnormal heart rate to heart attacks, cause nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and even cause seizures. It’ll also cause stroke and widespread brain damage that can impact all aspects of daily life by causing problems with memory, attention and decision-making, including sustained mental confusion and permanent brain damage (Effects of Drug Abuse and Addiction). Using illicit drugs not only affects the person using the drug, but also the ones around that individual. Their behavior affects the health of others and can carry over into their lives with a palpable, perceptible, and sometimes permanent impact. High school students who use illegal drugs will experience a declining performance in their education. “School performance is reduced through impaired memory and lessened ability to solve problems” (The Truth about Drugs). Loss of coordination and distortions can also affect where the student is whether in an after-school activity or on the road putting people 's lives in danger. Ultimately, the number one consequence of abusing drugs is
It is important to be informed of what we are defending, and in this case it is to not legalize drugs. One may ask, what are drugs? Drugs are chemicals, that may affect your body in many different ways, whether it be good or bad. However, most of the time, it 's not always a positive outcome. Some drugs even leave lifetime damage to your brain and body. Although, there are many different ways to take drugs, some of the most common ways are; inhalation, ingestion, and injection. All three ways, however affect the body differently. You don 't always know what you are ingesting or injecting and even inhaling. Most of the time, because drugs are illegal, they are sold through drug dealers
The use of drugs is a controversial topic in society today. In general, addicts show a direct link between taking drugs and suffering from their effects. People abuse drugs for a wide variety of reasons. In most cases, the use of drugs will serve a type of purpose or will give some kind of reward. These reasons for use will differ with different kinds of drugs. Various reasons for using the substance can be pain relief, depression, anxiety and weariness, acceptance into a peer group, religion, and much more. Although reasons for using may vary for each individual, it is known by all that consequences of the abuse do exist. It is only further down the line when the effects of using can be seen.
Drugs are chemicals that change the way a person's body or mind works. Drugs are not good for health as they have many side effects and damage our brain, heart and other important organs. Drug is a depressant that slows down the functions of the central nervous system and makes us less aware of the events around us. I...
