I. For people to have a better understanding of coffee, they should know the history of coffee, the negative effects of drinking coffee, and the benefits of drinking coffee.
II. The origin of where coffee is very interesting.
A. No one is sure exactly where coffee was first discovered. But, according to the article, “The History of Caffeinated Coffee”, which was posted on PBS, it is a popular belief that a goat herder named Kaldi from Ethiopia discovered it in the 9th century.
1. He noticed his goats were full of energy after eating a certain type of berry.
B. Coffee then became a very popular drink in Africa.
1. People tried many different ways to eat the beans, but it took them a long time to find a practical way.

Lastly, although coffee may seem great, there are still a few negative effects. . According to Webmd, drinking six or more cups a day can cause anxiety and agitation.
1. Drinking a lot of coffee can make a person become dependent on it and if they stop drinking it everyday, they will start to have withdrawal symptoms.
A. Coffee that contains caffeine can cause many problems. Symptoms include restlessness, nervousness, nausea, insomnia, increased and irregular heartbeats, increased breath rates, and ringing in the ears.
B. Another negative effect is that women who drink more than two cups a day while they are pregnant, it can cause many problems. It can increase the chances of having a miscarriage, low birth weight, and premature birth.
C. Lastly, drinking coffee can increase the amount of calcium you lose from the foods you eat. It increases the chances of developing osteoporosis, which is when bones become thinner than normal and develop holes easily. You are less likely to develop this disease if you drink about two or three cups a day, although, taking calcium supplements may help make up for the
