The United States men’s basketball team, nick named the “Dream Team” is described as the great sports team ever put together, and was the first American Olympic team to feature active NBA players in the 1992 Barcelona, Spain Olympics. This team featured 11 hall of famers that paved the way for the game of basketball, some of these players included Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, etc. The assembly of this USA team was the spark that put the NBA on the map, and help give birth to the modern NBA. Furthermore, the “Dream Team’s” generational influence had a positive effect on the sport because they helped shape the sport of basketball into what it is today and also helped the game become more popular around the world, which helped give rise to many international NBA players today such as Tony Park, Manu Ginobli, and Dirk Nowitzki, who said that the 92 “Dream Team” is what made them first love the game of basketball.
