In society today, diversity is mostly viewed as a positive thing. It affords people the opportunity to experience things that are outside of their natural culture and that they are accustomed to. American diversity is often times viewed as something that it very beneficial to all parties involved. This leads to an increased profitability as well as increases opportunities for workers. In addition to workplace diversity being important inside of the building it is also important outside of the building. A businesses reputation can be caused to flourish when its companies demonstrate a commitment to diversity through a purposeful and consistent outreach and recruitment team. When an organization is known for it ethics, fair employment practices, and its appreciation for contrasting talent then is it more capable of attracting a larger range of efficient and competent applicants. Other advantages include customer and worker loyalty due to a company’s commitment to practice social responsibility.
A divergent place of work does not only offer exposure for employees to the different cultures and backgrounds in the world. Employees quickly learn from co-workers whose work approach vary and whose attitudes and work ethics is different from their own. This is truer within work environments that vary in age. More traditional or older workers learn about new technological advances from those workers that may be a bit more tech savvy. This same younger group of workers may be able to take some pointer on a more go-getter, straight forward, and hardworking approach introduced to them by the older
