But what many people may not know would be that other “witch hunts” have happened in history. One such would be the Japanese in America after Pearl Harbor . There are many similarities between the hysteria that happened in Salem and in America during their respected times. Such as the way people treated them, how people reacted to the situations, and how they dealt with these people. The way these people were treated we way too similar for being three hundred years apart. The witches in Salem were treated as outcast and we exiled from the church. Whereas the Japanese-Americans were relocated to internment camps and many people did not accept them as their neighbors or friends anymore. So for Salem the people would just go crazy calling people out for being “witches” . Whereas right after Pearl Harbor which happened in December the government was moving people as early as February. Then also in 1942 the passed the Executive Order 9066 “which gave the U.S. military authority to exclude any persons from designated areas.” Although this did not specifically say Japanese-Americans this order was targeted at them. Also the witches were called out because people were in some way jealous of these people. So then these people could get what the wanted form the witches for cheap because the church would take the possessions of the witch. This same thing happened with the Japanese where people would buy their possessions for cheap. Some had to give up their shops,houses,cars, and many more things for unreasonable amount of
