Moksha can be achieved only by knowing the purusha. Charaka sharira first chapter ends by the verse Hereafter the personal self having become one with the cosmic self is no longer seen as particularized, being rid of all qualities. He has no longer any distinguishing mark. The knowledge of Brahma alone have Knowledge of this, the ignorant cannot understand it7.

This state is known as yoga. Charaka explains that all sensations cease to exist in the state of yoga (union with self) and Moksha (emancipation). In moksha the cessation is complete while yoga leads to emancipation.
Moksha is possible by absence of rajas and tamas, destruction of the potent past deeds and detachment from all the sources of conjunction11. To remove the raja and tama gunas moksha upayas have been explained by acharya charaka.
In order to assess the spiritual dimension of quality of life, the WHO developed the WHOQOL-SRPB to examine quality of life aspects related to spirituality, religiousness and personal beliefs12. In this paper, I will be explaining how Siddhartha had arrived at the Four Noble Truths. The first paragraph contains how Siddhartha’s life was full of suffering, pain, and sorrow. The second paragraph will be the cause of suffering is the desire for things that are really illusions in Siddhartha’s life. Following, in the third paragraph I will be explaining how the only way to cure suffering is to overcome desire. Finally, I will be explaining that the only way to overcome desire is to follow the Eightfold Path.

The concept of reincarnation is related to karma, karma deals with a system of rewards and punishment based on the actions of the individual (Oxtopy & Segal 266). The idea of samsara is roughly that of reincarnation. All souls are trapped in a cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The goal of each of these souls is to escape the cycle of samsara and obtain moksha. Moksha is a reincarnation with a god. Moksha is a common belief in the Hindu religion and it describes a state where one’s soul connects with God’s soul. In the Hindu religion, achieving moksha removes one from the cycle of life and death, which is the state of reincarnation as one moves from one life to the next. Eastern enlightenment religions have been gaining popularity throughout the western world for the past few decades, with many people attracted to a "different" way of experiencing religion. As with many other enlightenment religions, Buddhism requires disciples to understand concepts that are not readily explainable: one such concept is that of no-self. In this essay I shall discuss the no-self from a number of modern perspectives; however, as no-self is difficult to describe I shall focus on both the self and no-self. Beginning with psychological aspects, and neurophysiological research on transcendental meditation, I shall discuss the impact of modern brain science on our understanding of the self and transcendence. Next I will outline the relationship between quantum physics and non-locality, as this gives a western scientific explanation for no-self. Returning to the original source of Buddhism, I will briefly outline the discussion between Siddhartha and Vaccha regarding atman, then discuss the mind and no-self and their relationship to liberation. Finally I will summarize a few issues that the western mindset may face approaching this topic.
