Diary Entry Dear diary, Today was……well…..embarrassing, to say the least. I met up with my friends in town. We went round some shops, got this really nice top, Dave helped me choose. Well, after spending a couple of hours wandering about we all decided to go to the coffee shop, the one down on Regent Street. It's usually really cool, everyone's so laid back and you really can relax. The coffee isn't too bad either. So we went up to order, Dave and I."Two chocolate frappacinnos and a regular coffee please." Man, did I get a look of the lady behind me. I was like, what's wrong with you?! I slowly followed her gaze and found it resting on my hand. I was holding hands with Dave. So what? Big deal. He's my partner. I'll do what I want with him. So, we sat down at our regular table, drinking our regular coffees. Dave was being really sweet, he kept on just giving me gentle kisses on my cheek, I was really happy…. The waitress came over. "Excuse me. This has nothing to do with the staff. We don't have a problem with what you are…" what I am? I remember thinking, what the hell are you talking about? I'm gay? Is that what I am? "…it's just we've had a few complaints and I was wandering if you could just…stop being so close, you know?" I could feel my face getting redder and redder. Fiona's was going red too.
There is a famous 1961 film called West Side Story. In this film the “Sharks”, who are Puerto Rican immigrants battle the “Jets”, who are New Yorkers, for claim of New York City. Often erupting into violence, these two different culture groups despise each other simply because of the ignorance both have experienced. Through the rubble a love story emerges and eventually put aside their differences. This is however after several knife attacks, gunshots fired, deaths, and a hate filled mamba dance routine. Stories such as this about cultural differences are ones that one would think are far in the past. That as a society, we have moved past the differences accepting and embracing the differences that make each individual unique. But this is not the case, especially not in Northern Ireland during the 1960s till the 1980s. In Ireland, especially in Northern Ireland, religion has been the main divider between the Irish. The Catholics and Protestants have become forms of ethnicity in which the natives identify with. In John Conroy’s book, Belfast Diary, one sees an American journalist’s perspective on the conflict which hinders Ireland. The “democratic system” that was in place created an unstable power struggle only lending more fuel to the fire between these two groups. Strong examples of the unbalanced system are seen as John Conroy gives the reader access to his experience of “the Troubles” of Northern Ireland.
Growing up as an only child, I was everything to my parents. They were always overprotective of me and wanted to be sure that I was never in danger. When I graduated high school, they expected me to stay in my hometown, living with them, to further my education at the local University Center. Unfortunately, despite what they wanted, I chose to be independent by going away for college. In The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, Mary is in the same position I am. It is stated, "Ever since the Spokane Indian reservation was founded back in 1881, nobody in my family had ever lived anywhere else"(Alexie 89). Not caring about her family 's history, Mary decides to pack up and leave the reservation. She has a vision for

The Holocaust was a time of sadness for many people. However, one story that took place during the Holocaust was truly inspiring and impacted the lives of many people around the world. This was the story of Anne Frank and her family. Anne Frank was one of over one million Jews who died in the Holocaust (Anne Frank 1). In September 1939, when World War II began, more than one and a half million Jews lived in countries occupied, or soon to be occupied by Hitler (Lee 1). Because of this many families were forced into concentration camps due to Hitler during this time. However, Anne’s family decided to try and avoid the brutal camps by going into hiding in the secret annex. Anne Frank and her family are famously known for Anne’s diary that was found by Miep Gies in the secret annex (Anne Frank 1). Not long after the diary was found, Anne’s story was known all around the world. Anne Frank impacted the lives of many by showing people an insight of what life was really like for Jews under Hitler’s control and being someone who people can look up to. Therefore, Anne Frank impacted the lives of many people around the world and has become a “famous symbol for the lost promise of the children who died in the Holocaust” (Anne Frank 1).
A great day to add to my diary. I've got a new job after that stupid
“Do you need help, sir?” Asked a woman as I was getting in line at Starbucks to get another cup of coffee to replace the one I had spilled on myself.
Another question in which was asked of me was; what do the customers order? Since my scan was done at night most drinks that where ordered where hot. Also some people would order a pastries with there drinks in which could be a coffee cake, or a chocolate espresso browny, or one of the other pastries in which where offered. People ordered many different types of drinks such as hot chocolate, vanilla crème, and coffee. An item in which people also order but was rare is the sandwiches in which Starbucks makes daily. While listening to what people order there was a coffee language in which was used a lot and one that every customer knew, this language was the language in which told the employees what size of drinks they wanted.

My strong interests in music, good food, and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom may seem broad, but they are the essentials for my aspiration in life. These passions are the incentives of how to be a happier and more successful person for me to become.
Upon writing this paper I felt uncomfortable. I thought “how do I write about myself?” I thought this because at this point in my education I have yet to do so. This really made me think about who I am. Physically I have red hair, I am big, and tall. Some groups I associate with are the Athletes, academics, and my family. I am interested in plenty of things such as politics and reading. My personality is described as happy, fun, intelligent, loving, and caring. I also have a few things I am passionate about like education, science, independence, and friends. I am also defined by my job where I would describe myself as working, progressive, and patient. So, twenty words to describe me are; red-headed, big, tall, athletic, academics, family, politics, strong, happy, fun, intelligent, loving, caring, education, science, independent, friends, working, progressive, and patient.
It was a week before Valentines Day in 1987. I was nine years old and
I love journals and have been keeping one on and off since I was eight. Keeping a journal, or diary as many have called it, can help clarify your thoughts, ideas, notions and problems. It can help manage those overwhelming emotions and reduce anxiety and stress. The ability is there to gain perspective on your thoughts and feelings. A journal can be profoundly personal and something tangible to go back to to relive parts of your life. Your life based on a true story, spread out over time. It is a place to record whatever you wish. Be it your darkest secrets, your first crush, your innermost feelings, how events made you feel or changed your life. It is a friend that is always nonjudgmental and always
It is the start of a new year and I thought I would start a journal chronicling my daily experiences. Tonight we decided to go to the local F.O.P. lodge to a New Years Eve party. We had a pretty good time but what happened later that evening is something that I hope I don’t forget for a long time to come. Still fresh in my mind was the conversation Angela and I had on Christmas night. She was hinting that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be in a serious relationship this soon after the breakup of her previous one. If that wasn’t hard enough on Christmas she also was to ill to attend my brothers wedding with me in Madison Indiana . To add to all the confusion in my head, on my way home I stopped and got her a rose and a “happy New Years” balloon. She seemed quite touched by the gesture but also visibly troubled by it. I asked her if she was ready to have a good time tonight and she said “I was but now I don’t know.” Now what in the world does that mean! I tried applying all sorts of significant meanings to that statement but in the end I decided to just let it go and let events unfold as they would. Fast forward to 2 minutes before midnight. Angela is an absolute goddess, she is very beautiful and one of the nicest, sweetest woman I have ever met, but she is not one given to affection, especially public affection. Well at 2 minutes till she laid a kiss on me that lasted well after midnight. She absolutely blew me away!! The rest of the night was nice, we went to a couple more clubs but that moment is burned into my memory. Everything else paled in comparison. I don’t know if it is possible but I think I kissed her with my heart as well as my lips. I have heard of your “minds eye”, but tonight I found my “hearts mouth”.................
An Unforgettable Trip - Personal Writing I finally arrived in Pakistan on a hot, June morning after nine tiring days. hours. The time is a lot. We finally arrived in a village and the heat beyond words was irritating me. I looked around me, there were trees and greenery.
