My Interesting Roommate There are many new things that you experience for the first time when starting college. One of the biggest changes is living with people who you have never met before. I lived about six hours away in Pennsylvania, so I did not know a single person before I started. That meant that I would have random roommates. Before I started I was nervous about what my roommates would be like. I was afraid it would be hard to adjust to. I was also afraid that they would either not like me or they would be difficult to live with. When I arrived, most of my nervousness went away after meeting my roommates. They were all pretty nice, and they seemed to be easy to get along with. The only thing that I wasn’t sure about yet was my one roommate. I thought he was a little strange, but then I thought if I got to know him a little better he wouldn’t be too bad. After everyone got all of their stuff moved in, we decided to walk around the campus and check things out. While we were walking around, we were talking a little about ourselves so we could get to know each other better. We all learned that even though he is different, we should still accept him as a friend. He is a very nice person, he just isn’t exactly like the rest of us. Even though he isn’t like us, he is still a good friend. If we wouldn’t have him, our group would not be as close and we might not even be friends with each other. The first few days I was thinking that he was going to be annoying to live with, but as time went on, I realized that I am happy I got the opportunity to meet him.
