The croaky roar of the engine pierces the surrounding as motors come alive. The roar softens to a soothing purr, as the aircraft begins to stabilise and cruise through Jakarta’s sky. The outline of the bustling city can only barely be traced out, shrouded in a blanket of pillowy, white clouds that resemble soft balls of cotton. Separated only by a tiny porthole, migratory birds flock some distance below the aircraft, maneuvering skilfully through the sky. The city looks tiny from thousands of feet above; buildings, people and landmarks are mere specks of colour that almost blend together to form the messiest piece of abstract art. I was charmed by this film the first time I saw it, and every time since. It was the synthesis of the journey of mankind into the future and an argument for space as mankind’s ultimate destination. It was the best science fiction film I had ever seen, as it presented several different possibilities and scenarios of what could happen as well as what might happen to man in his quest to conquer space. The introduction of the computer as an artificial intelligence was an added plus. The idea of a machine making the same mistakes as any human being proved out in its own statement: that any glitches in its operating parameters had to be due to human error. Given that machines are incapable of emotions like guile, hatred, fear and sorrow, HAL was nearly as emotional as any organic being. This in itself was a glorious foil for man’s ambitions to discover the wonders of deep space.

Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants.
It takes a while to process everything that is going on, but once you see the whole picture, the smaller details come out and are noticeable, even within the visually assaulting Square. The tall buildings are the first things you recognize; just the sheer size of them makes you feel like a tiny, unremarkable speck of dust. Each has its own character and was created with a unique design. A uniting factor of the buildings is the windows. The glass surface reflects the afternoon sun’s light, making a giant mirror from the buildings’ sides. The mirrors create an enormous hall of other building’s distorted reflections. Hanging from the buildings are advertisements for everything under the sun. Many billboards are for the different musicals that are going to be shown at Broadway soon; the classics, like West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, and Wicked, are always there. Others are announcing the release of a new HP laptop, or Samsung HDTV. Some unveil a high fashion store’s new fall line of sweaters and jeans. Of course, there is the obligatory Coke commercial, telling you to enjoy a refreshing bottle of ice cold Coke.
The background or world of blindness extends from a general view of the street and its inhabitants to the boy's personal relation-ships. It is not a generation gap but a gap in the spirit, in empathy and conscious caring, that results in the uncle's failure to arrive home in time for the boy to go to the bazaar while it is still open. The uncle has no doubt been to the local pub, negligent and indifferent to the boy's anguish and impatience. The boy waits well into the evening in the "imperturbable" house with its musty smell and old, useless objects that fill the rooms.

The implied sunlight is natural that has an illusion of coming through the clouds, the reality of the sunlight seems to dry out the land. Yet, it symbolizes the overcoming of the end of a drought on the rural crop lands. The colors of neutral tones are used predominately throughout the landscape. The brown neutral-toned houses are surrounded by wisps of yellow, overgrown, grass which seem to represent the destruction that mankind has caused, in turn, is suppressing nature and holding back the potential beauty it could unleash. The dull grass and trees lack vivid colors and present a lackluster mood. Yet, the yellow grass draws you to the horizon of the painting. This seems to resemble the hopefulness of a new crop in the dry crop land. The yellow grass shows the harsh results of a drought that has been sprinkled with blue horizontal streaks. The blue horizontal streaks demonstrate puddles of water as if it has recently rained. The blue color emits a feeling of calmness as if the uneasiness of the drought season has been lifted. The colors lack blending and create a blunt contrast appearance. The dark shadow in the bottom right corner mysteriousness and an ominous feeling of an omniscient presence. The form the artist chose to work with demonstrated an organic form with a combination of a geometric form because of the three structures at the focal point of the painting (DeWitte, et al., 2015). The city was blinding me with shining lights that you could see from space. It was glistening in the night and dull by day. There were cars parked all alongside the streets and traffic jams every corner.
During this specific night, an army of mysterious, murky clouds seized control of divine sky, devouring the sun. Favored by the troops, the moon, displaying its glorious luminescence upon a shadowy city, wins a triumphant victory over the sun. A ferocious leader of the army activates the withdrawal then leads dedicated soldiers to west as if they are tracking down a wild dog. On the other hand, the city transmits its vivid and righteous illuminations back to the sky to let people in the “second floor” know that “era of tranquility” began. Imagine the astonishing night, rigid and bright buildings lie elegantly on the moonlight sky, bring lights gaze from the thousands of bulbs. It is beautiful, yet no one knows what beauty is upon them.
