Introduction Depression is a psychological disorder, which affects many people in their lifetime right from childhood to adulthood where the preference level rises. Research shows that 5 to 25% of the populations are depressed in their lifetime and 17% of those suffering from major depression commit suicide (Joormann & Quinn, 2014). When approaching adulthood, depending on the environment, future and situations in people’s lives, the level of depression changes from mild to major especially in the cases where it is not treated or managed (Gibb & Abela, 2008). From the research carried out the following are the effects of depression as one progress from childhood to adulthood. There is increased level of reduced social networks among the depressed, the tendency of isolating and lacking social networks in the society is high. If depression, whether major or mild is not well managed, can lead to health disabilities among the old people and during the transition period between the childhood to adulthood. The health disabilities range from physical, nutritional or mental disorders (Matthews et al., 2016). As aging nocks in a person’s life, there is a tendency of many people becoming depressed, because of reflections, challenges, achievements and failures in one’s life, many aging people get into depression, family rankles and wealth sharing becomes the central core of depression. The loss of spouse can lead to depression especially at late in 40’s and this can affect individuals to a level of trying drugs or committing suicide. Emotional Development
