Before attending the majors fair, I looked at a list of majors that Missouri State University offers. I decided I wanted to look the majors Cell and Molecular Biology, Animal Science and Biology (BS). After speaking with people from the Cell and Molecular Biology and Biology majors, I decided that Cell and Molecular Biology would be the best major for me to choose. She gave me a very informational packet called “Intrested in a career in Dentistry? Consider the Cell and Molecular Biology major in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.” In the packet it showed all of the required courses of the Pre-Dental curriculum. I was shocked because almost all of the required courses I have already started on, which is really good news. It also included a plan for applying to dental schools, which will be really useful in the future. The Dental School I want to attend is University of Missouri- Kansas City. Apparently most of the graduated pre-dental students at Missouri State University attend there, which was marvelous news. This programs allow students during their second year of receiving their bachelor's to apply to the dental school and have a reserved spot in the schools dental program for when the student graduates with their bachelor's. This program fascinated me because it means that if you were to be accepted into the program as a sophomore, you would not have to worry junior and senior year of college about the long drawn out process of applying for dental

Healthcare is a necessity to sustain society. Dentistry is an area of healthcare that I feel extremely passionate about because access to proper dental care is limited, especially in the underserved communities. As an African American, I want to become a dentist and healthcare provider in the hopes of helping patients and adding to the diversification of the field. With a growing minority population in the United States, it has become apparent that there is a shortage of black dentists. This is problematic because underrepresented minorities are in great need of access to culturally connected dentists who understand their clinical needs as much as their lives and their challenges. I believe that when the profession includes a range of ethnicities
Upon enrolling at Texas State Technical College, I met some amazing professors who really inspired me to go for with my dreams of becoming a dentist.
