Dionisio “Dennis” Chavez was born on April 8, 1888. Dennis worked driving a grocery wagon when he
was 13 years old to help support the family. He taught himself engineering, American history and politics
at the city library, being Thomas Jefferson an important influence in Dennis’ education.
In 1922, Dennis was elected to the New Mexico House of Representatives, his first sponsored reform
legislation was free text books for public school children. Chavez served two terms in the House before
moving to the Senate, where he served until his death in 1962. During his Senate career, Dennis actively
supported conservation programs, transportation, federal crop insurance, and rural electrification,
important for New Mexico. He introduced the
first of many bills to protect Indian lands, citizenship, voting rights and self-determination. Also, he co-sponsored one of the first Senate bills to prohibit discrimination in employment, the Fair Employment Practices Commission Bill. On the international level, as the only Spanish-speaking senator, he worked with the U.S. Secretary of State on forming the Good Neighbor policy for Latin America, he supported America's entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and was particularly effective working on the planning and development of the Pan American Highway as President Roosevelt's personal emissary. He died in Washington on November 18, 1962, of a heart attack. In 1966, the Chavez statue in the Capitol's Statuary Hall in Washington was dedicated to him, Dennis Chavez, the most honored New Mexican senator.

Cesar Chavez, a civil rights activist, was a major proponent of workers’ rights in Hispanic history. Cesar was born in 1927, in Yuma, Arizona, as a Mexican- American. He grew up in a large family of ranchers and grocery store owners. His family lived in a small adobe house, which was taken away during the Great Depression. In order to receive ownership of the house, his father had to clear eighty acres. Unfortunately, after his father cleared the land, the agreement was broken, and the family was unable to purchase the house. Since Cesar’s family was homeless, they had to become migrant farmers. In order to find work, they relocated to California.
Chavez was a major leader in the Chicano movement that all started when he was nineteen years-old when he joined the NFLU (National Farm Labor Union). Chavez was greatly supported the idea of equality the he “gained national stature as a labor union spokesman” with all the action he would take not only in his community but others as well. He was such an influential person that the people of the US Senate offered him to” have a testimony during an US Senate subcommittee hearing” . While he is there he lets the people know how these migrant farm workers are being treated and what people are able to do to help. His actions that he took changed US History by letting the people know what and how the migrant workers are treated.
Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 in a small town near Yuma, Arizona near the border. Born into a poor family, Cesar grew up in Arizona and in a small adobe home along with his parents (United Farm Workers 1). In his early life Cesar experienced a lot of injustices and saw how not only his parents, but most farm workers were being mistreated and overworked. Cesar Chavez later learned a lesson in his life about injustices that he would never be able to forget (United Farm Workers 1). Cesar would say “ the love for justice that is in us is not only the best part of our being, but is also the most true to our nature” (United Farm Workers 1).
Carolina. The. His father died before the war, and his mother and siblings all died during the war from disease or other causes, leaving him an orphan at the age of 14. When he was a kid he only received sporadic education, and education back then was simply not enough. But he did well and eventually went on to study law.
Chavez leaves a great legacy behind his children that have taken upon themselves to keep on fighting for what their dad believes was to keep helping the immigrant field worker. His foundation has built a lot of training school. The march and strikes are still done today to keep on fighting for injustices done to people. The union is still up. Chavez children run it.

Ramon Antonio Perez, join the United States Marine Corps , July of 2005 at the age of 17 years old. He continues to serve in the United States Marine Corps. and has been enlisted for 12 years thus far. During this time, he has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom V, Fallujah Iraq, in 2006. At the age of 20, in 2009, Ramon Perez was hired as a police officer for the City of Newark, New Jersey. Taking on a crucial roll to protect and serve the citizens of the City of Newark.
Civil rights leader Caesar Chavez, in his article reflects on the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. During the tenth anniversary of his passing. Chavezs purpose is to introduce the idea that nonviolent resistance is more effective than the use of violent mutiny. He makes use of Juxtaposition, examples of impactful leaders, as well as an appeal to religion and human emotion, and adopts a dominant tone Inorder to establish that nonviolence is overall more effective to his religious leader.

The food we enjoy every day comes at a cost, and could stop being produced in an instant. Caesar Chavez knew of this problem and devoted his life to fixing it. Farmers across the United States suffer from unequal treatment. Chavez has worked to improve the financial, medical, and labor standards for all farmers regardless of race, or social standing.
Our world today was shaped from the historical actions of activists like Cesar Chavez. There are many inspirational and historical activists, some change a nation, a town or even the whole world, but what they all have in common is their strive and passion to make a difference whether the impact is big or small. Many people find and get inspiration from these people which makes them want to make a difference and creates a snowball effect. In no way was it never easy to try and change a nation and start a movement, there’s always a battle but how the battle is fought is what determines the outcome of their fight for change.
