Delta Air Lines was founded in the year 1924 and is among the oldest airlines in operation. It operates thirteen hubs across the world with the largest being located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The airline flies to 335 destinations across the world, in North America, Africa, Europe, South America, Oceania and Asia. That is twice the flights of Detroit which is the second most busy hub which gets around 455 departures daily to more than 127 destinantions.The Minneapolis, LaGuardia, Salt Lake City, and Kennedy follows closely behind with more than two hundred departures on each hub.Theinternational hubs owned by Delta averages around 20 flights every day with Amsterdam on the top of the list with thirty six daily departures (Copeland & McKenney, 2005). United is also a founding member of the Star Alliance which is a direct competitor of SkyTeam Alliance where Delta belongs. However, compared to Delta, the Southwest Airline is generally new and its target is on the fliers from the middle-class level instead of the travellers of the business class.
