Joy [noun]: the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying. Some may say joy can be found in the craziest of places, but whats widely known is that joy is found in everything we do. For me, joy can be found in the little things; the things that get overlooked, and the things that most people don't find to be enjoyable at all. Joy is something we as human beings use to cope with hard times, mistakes, and even sadness. Although joy can be found in different ways, everybody’s way to find it is unique. Rocky Road with a side of laughter. A little thing that brings joy to my life is ice cream runs. Something as simple as getting ice cream creates this sense of joy because I’m doing it with friends and family. Spending summer nights with my friends was always great, it was even better when we would drive over to Willshire and order some ice cream. We’d laugh and joke over the silliest things and I’d always remember those moments by what we were doing: getting ice cream. These times made me feel that I would never have a dull moment in life again; I was feeling joy. …show more content…
Brisk mornings waking up from an endless night of laughter and great quality talks with amazing friends. These are the mornings I live for. Waking up super early to catch the morning sunrise; struggling to get up but in the end it’s so worth it. Struggling to make a cup of coffee to give you that small amount of energy you need to make it through the day. Then you step outside to find your feet soaked in the fresh morning dew, and you begin to feel your feet start to get colder and colder. You bare the cold anyways because the view is just too breathtaking. And as you watch the sunrise you just feel this sense of protection and that the day ahead will be a good day and nothing can go

We had a lot of ice cream and a lot of chocolate and caramel syrups. As we sat around the kitchen table talking about the incredible time we spent together, we promised that no matter where we ended up we would endure our ice cream tradition ever...
Happiness is a characteristic meant to be felt during an exhilaration brought by an event, but is not meant to be felt always. Joy is often confused as Happy because society thinks that when a feeling of hope or optimistic vision is felt, that an event must have caused this occurrence, however Joy is beyond an experience, and is an ever-dwelling knowledge that travels beyond feeling.
What is Happiness? Well that’s a question that everyone asks to themselves. Happiness is not something that you can trade; it’s honestly what people find. They want happiness and want to know they will always be happy. But Happiness is like air and water it is a hard emotion to grab on to in one’s hand. How do you know you have happiness? Can you feel it? Does it just happen? These are questions everyone wants a answer to.
Individuals try to find happiness, but like water or air, it is hard to clench in your hands. As defined in Merriam-Webster (2014), happiness is a state of well-being and contentment. However, happiness is hard to achieve, but it can be as simple as being contented, doing what you love, and living who you really are. Furthermore, everyone asks how one would know that they have it already.

Influencing the human body mentally, emotionally, and physically happiness has strong attributes; not just on ones’ feelings but on their overall well-being.
Happiness: A feeling or state of wellbeing and contentment (Merriam Webster). Cecilia Ahern’s novel, Flawed, focuses on a girl named Celestine whose life has been altered by a dystopian organization called “The Guild.” The story uses many thematic concepts, such as totalitarianism, or individualism. One such idea is happiness. Happiness is explored, in Ahern’s story, through its absence, much like modern society, only noticing happiness after it has passed or when they think it has passed.

I believe that true happiness is in the relationships we have with others. In the interactions we exchange-whether they are beautiful or violent, they are the interactions of a human. We often confuse our emotions and misplace what is important and what isn’t. When we do not know what it is that we hold dear, we cannot be happy.
