Recommended: My definition of freedom is

Discovering what Freedom means What’s your definition of freedom? The truth is, my definition of freedom is different from your definition of freedom, as the same goes for everyone. People must realize there are multiple stages of being able to consider themselves free. That is, a person may obtain freedom, but freedom from what? Freedom to do and be what? Few Americans have lived a free life with no hindrance and restrictions. The life you are living at this moment is not a free life, it’s an illusion. Freedom simply cannot be attained in many countries including the United States. Since a young age, children of this country have been preached the same definition of freedom as well as ways of expressing such ability. For many Americans the “true” meaning of freedom is being able to practice any religion, freedom of speech, assembly, free to bear arms, marriage, and travel anywhere. The list can be endless. Which is why Americans are proud to label their country as “the land of the free”. However, their so-called freedom has restrictions within. For example, being able to marry whomever is one of the benefits that comes with the American freedom package. However, not anyone can marry whomever they’d like. If your definition doesn’t allow you to do what you want, when you want, and whenever you want, you must question your level of freedom. Just as author Adam Okulicz-kozaryn said in his research “there also could be countries with lots of FREEDOM TO, but not much FREEDOM FROM”. For instance, a country like Ukraine has more civil rights for their people compared to a country like Pakistan. However, the people of Pakistan have more financial freedom than Ukraine.
