In life, expectations and outcomes are two variables that one must consider in decision making. In a perfect world, expectations and outcomes mirror one another. Unfortunately, the world we live in is full of variables; favorable and unfavorable. In order to become successful, one must adapt to their reality. In the future, I aspire to be a hair stylist. One of the most important things to consider as a beauty professional is the satisfaction of the client. In order to evaluate expectations and outcomes, I carried out an experiment on my hair. I decided to color my hair. My expectation was to make my hair an aquamarine blue. I wielded myself with my tools and began the process; I mixed my color and it looked perfect! I applied the color immediately and allowed it to process for the allotted time. After processing for an hour, I shampooed as directed and allowed my hair to air dry in a towel. After parading around the house for a couple of hours, I decided to take a look at the …show more content…
When expectations and outcomes don’t align; it’s important to become reflective and evaluate what went wrong and take the necessary steps to prevent the same occurrence in the future. After my episode, I realized I did not properly mix my product. I mixed more hair dye than developer, and as a result, the blue tones did not process. The second lesson is managing outcomes. I expected a mermaid-like, aquamarine color and ended up with an atrocious, pea-like color. As a beauty professional, this kind of scenario occurs more often than not. However, what defines professionalism is not only your skill level but also your ability to think on your feet and consider other alternatives. After evaluating all options, the safest and best way to move forward was to dye my hair black. If I attempted to go blue a second time, I may have been initially satisfied; however, it may have negatively impacted the health of my
Expectations are define as personal belief that something will happen. It’s similar to judgment or assumption people made to a certain person or group of people. It may not be true and it could be different from what is expected. People can also change how they live their lives based on their own expectations just like how the Greasers and the Socs had different expectations. These two groups have contrast expectations that caused bad actions to come up or lead them to benefits for their own group. Expectations may force people into something they are not, even if it is to become a hero or the opposite.
“Beauty might bring happiness, but happiness always brings beauty” (the daily quotes) If you have ever been unhappy about your appearances remember, it is a very familiar problem every human faces. Cosmetology was created to help those that are in need of their desired look. To express every moment was second of who they are or will become to be. Even though, we have abundant stylist today throughout the country. However, challenging cosmetology is one of the most creative of all art.
In the industry of cosmetology there has been women that have played an important role. Like Sarah Breedlove, who later became known as Madam C.J. Walker was America’s first African American female millionaire. She was born poor and orphaned, but later built her own business of manufacture hair products. A scalp infection lead her to the creation of her products. Like many women she struggled to find the solution to her problem, after she tried thousands of products, soon she started loosing her hair. While sleeping she had a dream of a man advising her of ingredients she needed to mix. She got up the next morning and did as her dream demanded. To her surprise this product had worked, she then begun selling her unique formula (“Beauty”). Who would have thought a women could have became so successful. They say dreams can lead you to great accomplishments and this was the case of Sarah Breedlove. Another example of a successful women is Jane Iredale, founder and president of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics. Jane Iredale introduced the full line of cosmetics, she wanted to create cosmetics that were beneficial to the skin. In order to make her products the best, she collaborated with make up artist, dermatologist, and plastic surgeons in the production (“Beauty”). These two women are great icons of the Beaut...
At a young age, I already internalized so much self-hatred because of the color of my skin and hair. I struggle with this immensely since I’d watch Disney movies, that only popularize one racial demographic, and the only person that I could semi look up to was Princess Jasmine from Aladdin. But there was no real representation of minorities when I was growing up, so I strived like any other person would to be a Disney princess. I always asked my mom to put weave in my hair or do something with it, so I could have long flown hair like Princess Ariel, from The Little Mermaid movie, or strive to look as beautiful as Princess Aurora when she was sleeping. And I continued to struggle with these ideas that what is beautiful was to be white. And I just couldn 't comprehend at the time, that I was already beautiful just the way I am. It wasn’t until I got to high school, where I somewhat shed these ideas on what was beautiful. I just realized that the media and the movies are essentially fake and photoshopped. And the models for the tv and magazines were too boney and hungry. I got used to my curves and by the body by that time. But I didn’t really show forth pride for my melanin nor color. I just accepted the fact that I was black and born that way. I didn’t realize how rich and important my color is as well as my culture. It was until I started school, here in the University of Boston,
What tools are available to assist teams in making a decision? In addition to creating an environment for effective decision making and reaching consensus on methods for making decisions as a team, there are tools that can assist teams in formulating and reaching decisions. Many of these tools were developed in the 1990s as companies working on improving quality and introducing self-managed team into the workplace. In decision-making there are many different decision-making models to assist us along the way. One thing with every decision- making model there are several decision-making tools needed to help narrow down the amount of information to only the ideas that are relevant to the decision at hand. In this paper we are going to examine one of the many different decision-making tools that can assist us in this process. The specific decision-making tool we shall discuss is for team-based decisions.
Hair dyeing became popular in the 1950’s, at that time, about 7% of American women chemically colored their hair. Today, about 75% of American women chemically change the color of their locks. Every day, new techniques and styles are added to the world of hair. Hair Colorists spend their time helping their clients change their look and add some fresh pigment to their clients’ faded strands. Although professional hair coloring has its challenges, hair colorists have a wide variety of creative outlets, have close personal connections with their clients and help them to build self-confidence and aid them in expressing their individuality.

Towards the end you’ll get a touch of the job reflection and outlook. A lot of great information is listed, so there should be plenty of it learned.
This assessment score surprised me for I feel that I am very tolerant and adapt well to change, but maybe, as I get older, I resistance change because I have found principles and ideas that work well to achieve success and see change as only undermining what is already working (McShane & Von Glinow, 2016, p. 429). McShane & Von Glinow (2016, p. 428) says that “constructive communication” can overcome resistance. This statement is directed at management, but I plan on using this same advice to overcome my own resistance to change from management. Changes are occurring in my department and some role realignment is going to take place, as this occurs, I agree with McShane & Von Glinow (2016, p. 434) that this change will cause me additional stress, of course, now that I know this I can actions to prevent it. An article written by John MacArthur’s says that the Apostle Paul when faced with pressure still reserved “room in his heart to feel the anxiety of other” (MacArthur, 2012), so when thinking of change, instead of just seeing it as something that is stressing me out, I need to realize that others are probably going thought the same emotions and symptomize with them other, for MacArthur also says that, “Anyone who knows and loves Jesus Christ is capable of handling pressure like that” (MacArthur, 2012). I also need to remember that God is in control and no matter what changes occur God will see me through it (Matthew 6:26). By managing change better, will make me a
The practice of improving the beauty of others may seem insignificant to some but for those in process of studying the cosmetology industry take great pride in the work they hope to produce. Hair stylist and nail technicians improve the way people look and feel about oneself to better improve self confidence; cosmetologist strive to do the best they can to achieve the look that their client may be searching for. However, these techniques must be taught thoroughly and without the proper teaching techniques, the upcoming cosmetologist may feel behind and uncertain about their abilities when performing on clients. Without the proper and professional ways of teaching, the student struggle to ever gain success in the business; this business builds only from the repetition of great work and failing to achieve the overall style of the desired look from the client will result in a failing business. The search of finding a successful and up to date school requires more work than one may assume.
What do you call a blonde who dies their hair brown? Artificial Intelligence. From stereotypical jokes like these, to being called a ditz or an airhead blondes are being discriminated against by everyone around the world. Blondes are awesome, but tend to be accused of having lower IQ’s and are often portrayed as dumb and brainless in movies such as Legally Blonde and Clueless. These stereotypes and false conclusions are untrue and offensive to the blonde haired community, but being blonde has many benefits including looking younger than you actually are, but also attracting more men than ANY OTHER hair color.
Expectation does not meet reality. In the world, today, inaccurate presumptions take place everyday. For example, the weather forecast that a person hears on the radio on the way to school or on the television the night before or even on a phone application only predicts the weather. A hypothesis estimated through research of what the actual outcome may be. Although expectation helps our world to try to create and conclude ideas, when set too high the outcome of reality only leads to disappointment.
In order to obtain blonde hair, I needed to utilize bleach color, and I stuck to Palty. The very first time I bleached it I was really mindful due to the fact that I was a bit concerned I would destroy my hair. After whitening it my hair had not been harmed at all. I simply had to see to it I condition it every day and it still remained really slick and also straight.

Life is full of decisions. Some decisions are trivial. Should I choose paper or plastic at the grocery store? Which of the 31 flavors of ice cream should I pick? Other decisions are vital. Should I get married to her or should I take this new job? Your decisions may affect many people or only yourself. In this paper I will present a decision-making model. I will describe a decision that I made at work using this model and how critical thinking impacted that decision.
Making decisions is an important part of our everyday life. Decisions define actions and lead to the achievement of goals. However, these depend on the effectiveness of the decision-making process. An effective decision is free from biases, uncertainties, and is deeply dependent on information and critical thinking. Poor decisions lead to the inability to achieve set objectives and could lead to losses, if finance is a factor. Therefore, it is important to contemplate about quality and ways to achieve it in decision-making, which is the focus of this paper. The purpose is to look into the needs of decision-making, including what one should do and what one should not do.
