Debate of the Superiority of Religion

¨ Religions are comforts for people. They make them feel secure, and

there is no first hand proof everything you believe is true. It is

very comforting for the individual to be right, and in this example in

their belief, if they are nearer to the truth than other religions, or

believe to be so, then they will feel more secure.

¨ All religions lead to the same place, by different paths. They all

end up at the same God. Many religions believe the same thing e.g.

that there is a God watching down upon the earth, and are all similar.

Therefore it is very difficult to define one "nearer to the truth than

others" when they all believe the same outcome, but by reaching it by

a different "path".

¨ Religions are faiths not facts, and therefore you have no proof that

one is nearer to the truth than the other. If you believe one thing,

but another religion does not agree you cannot state that as a fact

you are right, there is no direct proof.

¨ Nobody has proof of the truth and so nobody can prove that their

religion is nearer to the truth than others. You need to have some

sort of evidence to back it up, otherwise you cannot claim you

religion is nearer to the truth than any other religions is, without

being naïve.

AGAINST

¨ Part of some religions is to believe that yours is the most

important, and so it is not naïve to believe yours is nearer to the

truth, as you are continuing and obeying your religion and faith by

believing yours is nearer to the truth, as instructed.

¨ Over time we have come to find out more of God, and religion. Many

religions are extensions of others, and all religions will lead up to

the same God, but one will discover more than others will quicker, and

therefore at at least one time their religion will be nearer the truth
