Dear Inspiration Corporation STS Graduates: With much displeasure Inspiration Corporation is no longer able to provide any services to any person that is not actively enrolled in either a housing program, or an employment services program. There has been an influx of graduates that has requested services or meetings in the recent weeks, although I have enjoyed working with each one of my participants both active and graduates. HUD the funding source of the STS housing program has very clear and strict guidelines as to the allotment of hours each program must dedicate to actively enrolled participants in order to remain compliant. Therefore, meetings both formal and informal, as well as phone calls from graduates is not seen as allotted hours

While giving out supplies does not fix the homeless problem, it is the beginning to a solution. By building relationships with these women and learning about the homeless situation in Atlanta, I am preparing myself to identify real problems. I believe, in order to peruse a career in engineering, it starts with an understanding of my environment.

Community treatment actions otherwise known as CTOs can be used to help many individuals with mental illness and their families. If an individual has been in the hospital under the Mental Health Act the person’s physician usually psychiatrist can arrange for community treatment order (Byrick & Renshaw, 2012). This is to help the patient comply with the doctor’s orders while not in the hospital. CTO is a doctor’s orders for a person to receive treatment as well as supervision while in the community. This is used as a care and treatment plan to help with the patients needs ranging from medications to appointments. Homelessness needs to be attacked at its source. Developing a transformational campus will provide hope for the homeless by attacking its causes. This “Transformational Campus” is a place where an individual or family experiencing homelessness can go to receive housing, education, counseling, and support in order to help transform his or her life by addressing its root causes . This will be the beginning to the end of homelessness.

Obviously a question that will arise is where the funding will come from, well mainly from the lovely thing called taxpayers’ money. Its time they put a stop to seemingly wasteful projects and integrate it to ones beneficial to the society as a whole. Thereafter, once they are housed the assistance program will continue their support by linking them with employment, and attaining rapid access to other needed services such as Medicaid, and food stamps. Some people simply require a little push to get them back on their feet. Once affordable housing is made more available along with the assisting that helps maintain it, all excuses should be out the door.
"Homelessness--women veterans' service award?" Monthly Labor Review Nov. 2012: 36+. Student Resources in Context. Web. 17 Mar. 2014.
In the United States, it is practically impossible to walk down most streets without coming across a homeless person. The issue of homelessness has worsened because of the number of veterans back from our most recent wars. They have resorted to homelessness as their only refuge after being unable to maintain a stable home and/or not receiving the treatments they need. But as veteran homelessness demands more attention, especially in California, various solutions are being brought to action. The “housing-first strategy” being offered to homeless veterans and those endangered of becoming homeless, has played a major part in moving California closer to having an end to veteran homelessness in 2015.
Last year, when applying for this same grant, we only had estimates of the challenges that would arise from this crisis. Today, we are feeling it in full force. In just the past two months, the unemployment rate in Clinton County has nearly doubled from 10% to over 19%. Unemployment and severance benefits have run out for many, at the same time that state and federal cutbacks of social service programs have made it more difficult for families to find support burdening these difficult times. Many who still have the opportunity to work are only able to receive part-time hours, or are taking furlough days to keep their jobs. The realities of our economic situation are deeply troubling, and the need for assistance could not be greater.
All the residents at this Housing First-styled residence had severe alcohol problems and varying medical and mental health conditions. When taking into account all costs – including housing costs – the participants in the 1811 Eastlake program cost $2,449 less per person per month than those who were in conventional city shelters, as described in the article from the Journal of American Medical Association.” (endhomelessness.com). “The study, conducted by the university’s Department of Social Work, found Moore Place saved $1.8 million in its first year by drastically reducing the amount of time its tenants spent in emergency rooms (447 fewer visits) and admitted to hospitals (372 fewer days). Statistics show tenants also stayed out of trouble more, with a 78 percent drop in arrests and 84 percent fewer days spent in jail.”(dailykos.com). There is actual evidence of battling homelessness and saving money. But government officials are afraid of losing money. They are timid about this proven plan and they do not think it is worth it to make this
This paper presents a case study regarding Omega Inc., which has a contract sales force for its products. The contractors are employed by independently operated franchised dealers and do not work directly for Omega. Recently, Omega provided a training program for the sales force designed to improve sales performance and the franchisees instituted a performance management system to measure goal accomplishment. There are six primary steps in a performance management system and this paper will review five of the six steps as each relates to the subsequent step.
