A writer of seven books and musician with five albums to his credit, Dan Brown is a man of many talents. While his music has not been very successful, his books have. As of 2009, his books have sold over 80 million copies and have been translated into over 40 languages. (Wikipedia) Being the oldest of three children, Dan Brown was born on June 22, 1964 in Exeter, New Hampshire. His father, Richard G. Brown, was a mathematics teacher and wrote textbooks from 1968 to his retirement in 1982. (Wikipedia) Brown's relationship with his father was the inspiration for Sophie Neveu and Jacques Sauniere's in The Da Vinci Code. In 2004, Brown and his siblings had donated 2.2 million dollars to Phillips Exeter Academy in honor of their father. His mother is Constance Brown. (Biography) Both of his parents were very into spiritual music. (Wikipedia) Brown lived with his family on Exeter Campus where his father taught. (Biography) Brown had been raised Episcopalian. (Wikipedia) He had Christian values along with singing in church choirs and attending church camp. (Biography) When he was younger, Brown would spend hours working on anagrams, crossword puzzles, codes, and ciphers. (Wikipedia) Brown had attended public schools until he was in the ninth grade. He had then attended and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy. Afterward, he had attended Amherst College. (Biography) He had spent the 1985 school year in Seville, Spain. He had enrolled in an art history course at the University of Seville while there. In 1986, Brown graduated from Amherst College. (Wikipedia) He had graduated with a degree in English and in Spanish. Even though it was not well received with critics, “The Da Vinci Code” was the second-highest grossing film of 2006. (Wikipedia) While his books have been popular, Brown has had to defend his novel, The Da Vinci Code a few times. Each time, Brown was taken to court for plagiarism or copyright infringement. However, each time, Brown has been able to win every case. (Wikipedia) Dan Brown has had an exciting life and it is still going to this day. Brown has been a teacher and a musician.
