Internet Obscenity and Pornography This essay is about obscenity and pornography on the web. I will be discussing my views and opinions about this subject. If it hasn't already obscenity and pornography being openly displayed on the web will affect you. Maybe you have a younger brother or sister, or a child, or for some of us a child in the future. Whatever the case may be, YOU WILL BE AFFECTED! How would you feel if you came home from a hard day of work only to find your five-year-old child on the web looking graphically nude pictures? I am sure it would be a shock and quite a scare for you as it would be for me. How do you explain to you child of five what that is or what the people in the photographs are doing? Do you lie or do you actually explain to him or her about sex and pornography? I know that these are a lot of difficult questions, but if something is not done about this, you could be facing the very real truth of having to find answers to these questions. Not only will you have to explain what it is, what happens when they start asking more questions than you are willing to answer? I never realized how bad this was until I was surfing the web and about three times while I was on looking around from site to site, windows came up within my main page with four to six different porn sites you could go to. That was when I realized this is a growing problem. I don't think that you should have to have your children or whoever sit on you lap and you guide them through the web to make sure they only go to "safe sites." Children should have the freedom to explore without having their minds corrupted at a young age. Obscenity on the other hand is another story. This could or could not affect all children at a young age. That depends on the competency of that child. To get obscenity from the web you must first be able to read and second, be able to sound out the words. Not all children can do that. But if they can or could, what happens when your child gets angry with you and calls you a bitch? I am sure that would not make anyone too happy. This category runs over into another though. If you frequently say these words at home, a child may recognize the words in print more easy. So the best bet would be not to use them at home either. In conclusion I feel that children have to be monitored all the time when they are using the web, or you could be forced to answers questions that you aren't ready to answer. But, a even better solution would be to regulate what comes across the web and how much of it. Parents need to start using the technology that is out there to block these sites from their computer.
In this essay, we shall consider the so-called "reputable" mainstream American companies that are reaping huge profits from Internet porn, as well as related considerations.
Online predators, pornography, drug trafficking, piracy, and hate sites are just some of the dangers that a child can face on the internet. The article “The Undercover Parent” by Harlan Coben states that parents should use spyware to monitor their children. Coben argues that parents should be able to know what is in their children’s lives. he believes that spyware can prevent children from being targeted by internet predators on social networking sites and even prevent children from being cyber bullied. I agree with Coben’s claim that parents should consider using spyware as a protection for their teens online. There are many possible dangers facing children on the internet and it is essential that parents install spyware.

Kids that age should not be using that kind of language, but, let's face it, in high school, teenagers are going to say bad things they shouldn't. Most books that contain bad language, are set for a higher grade level and shouldn't be available to elementary kids. In my opinion us high schoolers, and few middle schoolers, are mature enough to read books with that kind of language. Plus they have the option not to read those types of books if they find it offensive.
Kids now want to be more independent and have more freedom which might scare some if not most parents. A lot of parents look at the internet as a dangerous tool and not a tool where their kids can have some freedom. Although parents need to realize that they can’t protect their kids from all ...
However, I feel that it is more important to keep these obscenities out of the minds of our children for as long as possible. They have their whole lives to see graphic images, hate, vulgar language and “adult” content, they do not need to be exposed to these vial things too soon. Our goal as parents and teachers is to teach the youth of this nation right and wrong and to lead and guide them in the right direction. If they chose as adults to view these types of things then that is their own decision and by this time they have hopefully matured enough to see these things and make the right decisions. Filters can and should always be improved, but it is clear that they are of great value and should remain in public libraries and in schools. There should always be continuous development of new types of filters and different ways to protect what kids see on the internet. As long as we can keep putting good in there will always be hope to get good

...pornography with such ease, parents are going to have to figure out a way to keep their children off these sites. The only other option is coming home and finding them looking at something they shouldn't. Because some children, given the opportunity, are going to seek out these sites, even if you ask them not to. After all, children will be children.
When you hear the word pornography, you most likely don’t link positive things to the word. Pornography seems to have a negative connotation attached to it, and has become a debatable subject in particular in today’s technological advanced age, where it is easier to access pretty much anything. But why has pornography been labelled with such a negative connotation? In my essay i will explore the many views on the subject, such as that of radical Feminists who claim that pornography objectifies women. Then there are consequentialists view, which see pornography as setting a bad example. There is one however, definitive situation where pornography is morally wrong and that is in child pornography There is no definitive way of arguing the question is pornography morally permissible? As there are many differing views on pornography, but how we see it all depends on our individual views, values, beliefs as well as morals.
The internet is a wonderful learning tool. Of course, like any good thing, the Internet comes with its ups and downs. There are several things that aren’t suitable for any child on the internet, such as pornography, violent material, adult chat rooms, and racist or hateful sites, there are even websites about cheating in schools.

Children have the power to learn and experience things at a much quicker pace, but they also have the power to be distracted and experience things that a child should not experience: bullying, pornography, profane language and violence. One of the main issues with older students would be texting while driving. “More than 4 out of 5 teen drivers admit to using their cell phone while driving” (Digital Kids Initiative). This alarming statistic shows just how much students need to learn about handling their devices responsibly. Similarly, children need to be taught how to responsibly manage his or hers web presence. This means not just cussing and throwing out cruel words without thinking of their repercussions. As well as maintaining a proper amount of security and privacy involving all their online

Net Nannies are a parental control system that distinguishes good and bad web pages within a site it also can flag dangerous IM conversations, as well as provide detailed activity reports. There are many types of parental control systems that can help keep children safe from predators, adult images and conversations. Although they are mostly used on children, adults can use them for themselves. Some adults do not wish to see some of the things the internet my present, so all they have to do is set the controls for what they would like filtered out. Another suggestion is for the internet controllers. Instead of censoring adult content from everyone, we could change any adult contents domain name from .com to .xxx. Changing all adult pictures, videos and other content will make it easier for parental controls or school systems to block all adult information.
