Would we, as human beings, be able to live without all the necessities made out of trees if trees could not be cut down? Trees must be cut down in order to get our essential everyday objects. Trees are the natural source of many items in our lives. Also, because soil is renewable, cutting down trees allow new trees to grow in its place. Cutting trees would give us, human beings, a less difficult time living. The article, “Tree Loss” states “ People cut down trees to make room for new farms, housing developments, highways and cities. ” I believe that cutting trees would leave space for new trees to grow. In addition, cutting trees would give space for structures and buildings. Also, the article, “ Tree Loss ” states “ Trees are used to make newspapers, computer paper, …show more content…
furniture, houses and many other products. ” In my opinion, I think trees are needed to be cut down. As a result, we, humans, can have what we need to make life easier. We would not be able to live as easily as we do today without the desideratus made from trees. When you cut trees, you benefit the forest as well as human beings.
“ When a serious wildfire rips through a forest, it has a tendency to kill nearly all the trees in its path. On one hand, to log a burned forest makes a good deal of sense. Some of the timber is still useful, and it's a way to derive economic benefit from a landscape that’s otherwise devastated. ” ( Source C ) In my opinion, I think the phrase “ Two birds, one stone ” is appropriate for this evidence from Source C. The phrase means that doing something can affect two things. Cutting trees from a forest that has been burned in a wildfire benefits for human beings and the forest. It would give humans the objects, used in everyday life, made out of wood and would benefit the forest by getting rid of the wood that has been burned ( halfway or more ) already. Source C says “ For example, some researchers have written that salvage logging could be beneficial, because it disturbs the soil surface, breaking up the water repellant layer that forms in a fire, and increases the soil’s ability to soak up water. ” I think cutting, or logging trees would not only help human beings, it would be healthy for the forest as
well. Someone might say, “ Once you cut down ( any amount of ) trees, it would take a longer amount of time to grow back. ” This may be true; however, Source B says “ Logging is part of forest management. It is a common misconception that recycling actually saves trees. Recycling does not help in saving trees because trees naturally wither over a period of time. As trees grow old, they need to be replaced and to allow the soil to regain its natural richness. The process of logging therefore is good. It allows nature to regenerate fresh, new soil to grow healthy trees. ” To my conceit, cutting trees, or logging is better than any choice such as recycling. Although recycling is very important because it reduces the huge negative impact on the natural environment, it does not help save trees, as society says. According to Source B, logging trees would benefit the forest’s soil. Logging trees would be better that leaving the trees to grow old, wither, and die. In conclusion, trees must be cut down in order to get our essential everyday objects. Cutting, or logging trees would provide human beings desideratus to make life easier, leave space for new trees to grow, and benefit the forest as well as human beings. In addition, logging trees lets nature renew its soil to grow healthy trees. Therefore, cutting, or logging trees is essential for the environment and people.
can actually leave more space for new trees. Also, cutting down trees gives more multiple resources to contribute for our needs. One tree can produce many things to help we humans and cutting them down can be more of a benefit than a disadvantage. Trees can be very beneficial and be used as many resources through education and basically everyday life. The Truax has a more realistic view on the environment and how we are using it.
Logging in the United States is a very controversial subject. Many people have different opinions on how we should take care of our forests and sometimes the arguments can get heated. Logging needs to be done to protect small western communities from catastrophic wild fires. Logging also gives small communities a way of income. When people think of logging they think of clear cutting which is damaging to the environment, but clear cutting does not happen too much on the national forests. The Forest Service has strict guidelines in which they follow to make sure the forest will stay healthy for years to come. Logging must be done with wildlife, human effects of the forest, and the health of the forest in mind. Logging can ultimately liberate small towns in the forest from fire danger and liberate the towns from having to depend on surrounding communities for a way of income. The forest and animals are also liberated from dense forest which can suffocate animals and plants. The animals are provided with more food with grasses after logging has accrued. Logging if done right is great for the forest and towns that are in the middle of the woods.
Trees, some of them a few thousand years old, have majestically stood on the face of the earth and have silently witnessed the evolution of human civilization. These trees are the living alibis of our pasts, magnificent markers of history. With their unusual shapes, enchanting legends and historical significance, some of these trees have become more than just giant trunks. Listing below ten such trees whose wooden hearts have amazing stories to tell!
Environmental issues affect every life on this planet from the smallest parasite to the human race. There are many resources that humans and animal needs to survive; some of the most obvious resources come from the forests. Forests make up a large percentage of the globe. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath, determine rainfall and replenish the atmosphere. The wood from the forests are used everyday form many useful resources. Moreover, thinning the forests increases the amount of available light, nutrients and water for the remaining trees. Deforestation (forest thinning) is one of the most critical issues of environmental problems that are occurring today.
One of the most predominate ecosystems is the forest community. Covering about one-fourth of the land area on Earth, forests consist mainly of trees and other woody vegetation, growing closely together. The trees can be large and densely packed, as they are in the coastal forests of the Pacific Northwest, or they can be relatively small and sparsely scattered, as they are in the dry tropical forests of sub-Saharan Africa. Forests are complex ecosystems that also include “soils and decaying organic matter, fungi and bacteria, herbs and shrubs, vines and lichens, ferns and mosses, insects and spiders, reptiles and amphibians, birds and mammals, and many other organisms” (Audesirk, 2003). All of these components constitute an intricate web with many biological interconnections. A bird may depend on the upper branches of a tree for nesting, while the tree may depend on the fungi surrounding its roots to obtain water and nutrients. A forest performs a number of vital environmental services, such as cleansing the air, moderating the climate, filtering water, cycling nutrients, providing a habitat for animals and provides humans with recreation and beautiful scenery. Resources from the forest supply raw materials, such as lumber, paper products, greenery and pharmaceuticals. Some of the developing issues today concerning forests are fires and what we as a society can do to restore the natural ecosystems within the forests around our world. Many aspects are to be considered when looking at the ecology and bioremediation of forests such as, human activities, wildlife, endangerment and environmental changes. This paper will discuss the effect wildfires have on the forest ecosystem.
On average millions of hectares of forests are destroyed each year resulting in severe consequences that will affect not only our lifestyle, but also all the animals with which we share our planet. Many species of animals and plants will become extinct and if we continue with the destruction of our forests, earth will be unable to sustain life.
Tree removal service is basically in charge of services like limbing, tree removal, and tree pruning. As a company providing such service, it is a big responsibility and should be done professionally.
II.Audience connection/credibility: It is very important for us to understand that trees do so much for our environment and we need to stop destroying the trees because trees provide a home for many creatures, they are the lungs of our world. Trees have medicinal benefits, that are very useful to the human race. Trees are very beneficial to the world and it is unethical to keep destroying the trees.
A fire burns all the waste such as weeds or dead plants and mixes in with the soil renewing and refreshing it. Aside from the improvement of the soil, gasses such as Carbon Dioxide are released into the atmosphere. The release of Carbon is great for plants and their new growing process that will occur. Not only will the plants have a fresh start to grow, they will have a chance to bring up new and a variety of different species into the forest. Aside from plants, it increases the quality of life for the forest animals as well.
...hich is an issue that simply cannot be ignored, due to the implications it has on our atmosphere. Our trees must be preserved as they are humanities biggest ally in the fight against the greenhouse effect, and if we continue to cut these trees down at rates faster than they can recover, the end for humanity as we know will be sooner rather than later. If deforestation is limited it will also limit the loss of biodiversity, which is an integral aspect to future survival.
As Theodore Roosevelt once said, "To exist as a Nation, to prosper as a State and to live as a people, we must have trees," (Westerhold, 1). Trees and national parks are truly important to our society and the people who are harming them most likely don’t know the importance of them. Protecting the national parks and trees will help our nation grow and people may not know that which is why they continue to harm them. As Jamie Westerhold says in her article about the Tongass National Forest, “ America’s most precious and endangered forests are far more valuable standing than cut down,” (Westerhold, 1). These endangered forests are so valuable because some of them are endangered or even some of the plants and animals that live there which could lead to extinction and the future generations wouldn’t be able to experience these amazing
Timber and especially hardwoods like mahogany and ebony are being felled at an alarming rate to satisfy the needs of the swiftly developing world. Another problem for the forest areas of the world is the type of agriculture used by some peasant farmers known as "slash & burn". This method of farming involves the burning of trees to add to the initial supply of nutrients in the soil. Over time this supply slowly wares down and so the farmer once again moves onto another plot of trees to slash and burn.
Trees are terrific. They cover the world and provide air and beauty for all to enjoy. Yes indeed trees are terrific. There are many uses for trees and their byproducts. Everywhere we look there are trees or some kind of shrub that always give us something to look at.
Trees are usually considered as bland, unusual objects that are usually taken for granted; however, I believe there is more to a tree that meets the eye. They supply oxygen and shade. During the holidays, trees are able to spread holiday cheer by wearing holiday decorations. Through providing, they are always beneficial to the needs of others. Rather than having striking beauty like a flower, trees have are grounded and possess a gentle beauty; they are adapted wildflowers to their environment. In fact, if I had to compare myself to an inanimate object, I would choose a tree. A tree has many characteristics in common with me. Characteristics like relying on our roots, strength and observation, and helping others and leaving behind a powerful legacy are a few of the traits we share. All of which I believe are admirable qualities to possess.
Trees are one of the most important parts of the biosphere. They provide oxygen, which is one of the largest producers of life. Humans live and strive off of oxygen every second of their lives. Not just humans need oxygen to survive and thrive on Earth, but animals, and other creatures on the planet do as well. Trees are a huge part of all life and if they were gone, there would consequently be no form of life. Not only do trees create all forms of life, but they create beautiful surroundings for an area and create a comfortable and shady environment for all surrounding life. Even though trees seem to be everywhere you look, the planet is losing billions upon billions of them a year. Anywhere from three billion to six billion trees are lost every year, ("How Many Trees Are Cut Down Every Year? Rainforest Action Network Blog. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Apr. 2014”). With this fact in thought, it shows that planting one tree can create a bigger difference than you realize.
