Mars, a planet we know little of just until Curiosity came along,Curiosity is a rover that got sent to Mars and had to find the geology about Mars and if there is water and the climate. This importaint information gave us great ideas from when this rover was launched and this rover was launched on November 6, 2011 and since that we’ve got more information that there is a chance for water to be on Mars.NASA has had that information since when it landed August 6, 2012 and that information gave us great ideas because the information and trip was a succes. The spinoff of what Curiosity used was a rocket powered sky crane that it used to land on Mars and is also used on Earth by landing planes in testing for this rover to have a good landing on Mars . This rover gave us uses on Earth and info on Earth about Mars as we go through more and more days but NASA is sending more missions to different places, get different goals, and have different spinoffs that we use. …show more content…
NASA had sent the crew with Niel Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldrin. This space mission was launched from Cape Kenedy on July 16, 1969 to go to the moon. This mission had succesfully made it’s trip to the moon and when it did land on the moon Neil Armstrong had taken the first person to step on the moon with his famous saying “One small step for man, and one giant leap for man kind”, on July 20, 1969. This saying was very famous and made him a great and important man who did this act. When they succesfully got back there had been a spinoff used here by making athletic shoes out of rubber from the soil and rock from the moon. This mission had landed in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 1969 but there still are other missions that we thought were
...ause it was the mission that NASA was able to put the first man up onto the moon. Neil Armstrong was the pilot of the Apollo 11 flight. There was a special shuttle that was attached to the spaceship; it was called the Eagle. The Eagle was designed to transport some crew members down to the moon. Armstrong was responsible for driving and landing the shuttle safely down to the moon. While on his way down to the moon, Armstrong realized that he was starting to run out of fuel. Thankfully, Armstrong did have enough to land on the moon and make it back up to the spaceship. When the Eagle was leaving the spaceship for the first time up in space, it wasn't completely depressurized so there was something like a gas bubble come from the shuttle as it was on its way to the moon. The gas bubble moved the shuttle off course and the Eagle actually landed four miles off course.
On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong planted the first human footprints in the lunar soil. The United States had accomplished their goal in sending men to the moon. They managed to not only send them 238,857 mi. (384,403 km) into space to our neighbor celestial body, but also send them back with a successful flight to our mother earth. This seems like a difficult task for a country that was behind Russia in space exploration at the time.
The great mission called The Apollo 14 mission, which was the eighth mission to the moon from the United State. Also, it was the third mission to the moon to land on. It was a great mission because it was finals “H mission” which had targeted to land on the moon and stay there for at least two days with “lunar EVAS”. In January 31, 1971 was a great day for United State because, the lunar EVAS start mission on this day at 4:04:02 p.m. with the commander “Mr. Alan Shepard, Pilot Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell”. It was about a 40 minute delay from the local time due to some weather
Mars is our next best hope in life on another planet. Because of science mankind can grow and harvest plants in the modified mars soil, make a thick warm atmosphere, and drink no frozen mars water. Mankind can grow and flourish more as a species with this idea of colonizing mars. With more scientific advancements we can colonize mars and we will colonize mars.
Information about space nasa curiosity is a robotic rover that landed on mars in 2012. Since then, curiosity has been roaming mars, collecting data and looking for signs of microbial life. In this interview, astrophysicist neil degrasse tyson discusses the curiosity mission and the possibility of people traveling to mars.
Have you ever looked up in the sky and wondered if there is life elsewhere in the universe? Have you ever looked at a photograph of Mars and wondered if there really was ever life on it? People have a wide variety of opinions regarding these questions and with good reason. As far back as the broadcast of H. G. Well's novel, "The War of the Worlds", the world has been fascinated with the possibilities of what Mars may hold. Over time, the majority of people have come to realize that there is no way that life can currently be on Mars. Those who are uncertain think there may be microscopic bacteria underground.
“On July 16, 1969 the world watched in anticipation as three men were hurtled skyward in a rocket bound for the moon.” (news.nationalgeographic.com). This was the Apollo 11 spacecraft, the first successful manned mission to the moon. This mission was the product of the space race (race to see who would go into outer space first, against the Soviet Union). This goal was set by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961 and he promised that we would be the first to step on the moon by the end of the decade. The Apollo 11 mission is often cited as the greatest achievement in human history. The Martian starring Matt Damon depicts the horrific situation in which an astronaut is abandoned on the surface of Mars after an impossible storm sent his crew fleeing. While an enthralling story, there are moments when scientific accuracy is thrown out the window. The enormous storm which forced the crew to abandon their mission and the reduced gravity on Mars, were not depicted accurately in The Martian. Other aspects of the move like the necessity, use and number of solar panels used on the surface of Mars appear to be more accurate.

Since 1976, when the Viking Landers took off toward the red planet, people have been wondering if there is life on Mars. There have been questions of pictures taken from Mars and skepticism about why some of the recent landings have failed. Scientists, up till now, have been doubtful about life on Mars.
Mars Surface is rocky, with canyons, volcanoes, dry lake beds, and it also has craters all over it. Mars also is mostly covered with dust that looks kinda like red dust that floats all the way around, on the edge. It also has winds and clouds and other things just like Earth.
In Aphra Behn's “The Rover,” characters define relationships as a type of economy where value and use are key. This time period commodified love and sexuality, valuing financial success over meaningful relationships. The dowry system made rich women with a high status most desirable for marriage and their value was increased by their honor. Typical of seventeenth century literature, Behn plays with this ideology as “the language of love in Restoration comedies frequently draws on the language of commerce.”1 She expresses her beliefs on the “'interest,' 'credit,' and 'value'”2 associated with love and sexuality through the different prices placed on her characters. Where Behn differs from other seventeenth century writers is that she does not give in to the “world dominated by male writers working in specifically misogynistic forms.”3 She gives women the authority within this economy. Instead of having very little power in their relationships with men, Behn allows women to be dominant. They can create their own value and control the amount of access men have to them. Characters such as Moretta and Angellica Bianca are not forced into submission by their desire for marriage, they “ignore[s] patriarchal structure and exhibit[s] no remorse.”4 They force men into submission through their manipulation of the economy of love and sexuality. Aphra Behn's characterization of Moretta and Angellica Bianca using the language of commerce gives them authority that other woman did not have access to.
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” It was July 20 1969, the day that reshaped our nation and gave us unparalleled dreams for the future. The impact of the day goes far beyond our pride and nationalism; that day would change space exploration and technology forever. Just like a shooting star, that day would give us a glimpse of hope. A chance to see an event so breathtaking and defying, it would be man’s greatest accomplishment in the 20th century. As millions of people watched from their TV sets, a rush of euphoria came over the nation as Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the surface of the moon. It was the first time in the history of mankind that we would step on the surface of another celestial body. John F. Kennedy dared us to dream, he inspired the nation to reach for the moon, to set ourselves apart from the rest of the world. The Space Race was symbolic of many things. Our future as the technically dominate nation was secured in place; just as secure as Old Glory would be, when she was driven down into the soil of the moon. We not only reached the moon, we conquered it as a nation; united.
Today, i’m going to show you why mars is the place we’ve always wanted to explore among all planets in the solar system that is because it’s nearby, get a better understanding, and a habitable planet. One of the reason we want to explore Mars is because it only takes 150-300 days to get to Mars. Also because the spacecraft is going to be launched in the mid 2030 which at that time is the closest point from Earth to Mars at the 2030-2040 period it is
When one pictures the literary and theatrical world of 17th century England, it is hard to believe that a woman as extraordinary and seditious as Aphra Behn was able to write and publish such revolutionary plays at the capacity she achieved. Having already seen six of her plays produced for stage, she was something of an “anomalous figure” in the theatrical community (Behn 14). However, the first known edition of her Restoration comedy “The Rover” was published anonymously with reference to the author as male in the prologue. One can speculate that due to the bawdy nature of “The Rover” Behn felt it was safer to publish anonymously considering the themes explored in the play. Anne Russell
