Equatorial Guinea is a country with a fascinating culture and customs. Equatorial Guinea is a country that is not so well known. Its traditions and celebrations are unique in other Spanish speaking countries because it is so far away.
Equatorial Guinea is a country located in the western coast of Africa. The region is also known as Rio Muni. Equatorial Guinea borders a lot of countries which includes Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, and Cabinda. Equatorial Guinea is a country with interesting history. Equatoguineans are the people of Fang and Bubi that migrated there long time ago. Then the Portuguese came to Equatorial Guinea. The Spanish also came later so the country was first named Spanish Guinea. Then the people gain their independence and change the country’s name to Equatorial Guinea.
Equatoguineans have a lot of jobs to choose from. For a living, some people plant coffee, yams, rice, tapioca, and bananas, which are sold everyday. Before the independence, Equatorial Guinea main source of income was cacao production. But after the Spanish left, the main source of income fell. Equatorial Guinea's only exports are petroleum, timber, and cocoa. Its main imports are petroleum and manufactured goods. The primary trading partners are the United States, Spain, France and many other countries.
The people of Equatorial Guinea likes to do a lot of things. They like to have festivals or celebrations on the holiday. They eat a lot of food on the holidays. They wear beautiful and unique clothes just for the special holidays. During the celebrations and festivals, they love to dance and play music. The celebrations and festivals also includes competition against each other to see who can win the prize.

Olaudah Equiano experienced Slavery in Africa on a journey for West Indies which arrived in Barbados.. Equiano and his sister was kidnapped from their family and separated from each other. Equiano talks about his experience being a slave. He mentions how at moment they were nice to him and that he was allowed to see his sister. The other villages were inferior of each other. The ways in which we produce our artwork, spiritual ideals, and ritual performances are organic and raw. From the tropical regions of Congo and Ghana, to the arid regions of Mali; I pass through the global gateway into a domain where the Western world lost its roots and artistic imagination and grandeur. Africa appeals most to me for its ability to create a realm where the living, dead, and artistic ideals come into a single unit of tranquil philosophy.
The Portuguese culture has always been an interest to me because as a little girl I have grown up with Portuguese neighbors. To get a better insight of the Portuguese culture, I asked my neighbor, Mrs Pinto, several questions about her Portuguese culture. Mrs. Pinto was in Lisbon, Portugal during the 1940's and then later moved to Angola, Africa as a little girl with her parents. During the late 1970's, she moved to the United States to start a new life with her husband and two daughters.
What is culture, one might ask? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, culture is the “customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group or the characteristic features of everyday existence (as diversions or a way of life} shared by people in a place or time” (Culture). Five major characteristics that define a culture include culture is learned, culture is shared, culture is symbolic, culture is all-encompassing, and culture is integrated. Culture depends on the human capacity for cultural learning that encompasses shared rules for conduct and that are dependent upon symbols. Cultures can be integrated by using “social and economic forces, core values, and key symbols” (Mirror for Humanity, 2002). This essay will elaborate on the physical geography and military history of Sub-Saharan Africa, an analysis of its weather, and an overview of the ASCOPE acronym.
The government of Africa is varied before the arrival of Europeans, there were kingdoms like Mali or Songhai, there was democratic rule, and there was egalitarian society like Nigeria where Achebe come from. Africans have a sense of the sacred and a sense of mystery; there is high reverence for sacred places, persons and objects; sacred times are celebrated. Belief in the afterlife is incorporated in myths and in funeral ceremonies. Religion enfolds the whole of life; there is a difference between life and religion.

In effect, she skillfully subverts stereotypes or single perceptions of Africa as backward and traditional, proving instead, the multifaceted culture of Africa. She further illustrates that neither traditional African nor western culture is necessarily detrimental. It is the stark contrast of the fundamental cultures that inevitably leads to clashes and disagreements. In the end, what holds African countries such as Nigeria together is their shared pride. Modern, western influences can bring positive changes to society, but new cultures cannot completely eradicate the foundational cultures to which a society is founded on.

So in conclusion Portugal is a small a country with a lot of tradition. But it's also well known that the Portuguese people don't stay in Portugal. In fact there is a Portuguese saying that says, "Where ever there's in the world there's a Portuguese person". This can be proven because after Lisbon, the largest Portuguese community is in Paris, France.
South Africa is such a beautiful country abundant of life and hope. Africa 's landscape is composed of wide open spaces, brownish hills and red sunsets. These prodigious backgrounds depict the nature of the culture in South Africa. Culture is what makes Africa special and aside from beautiful landscapes, the fervent and contrasting culture in South Africa is what makes it unique. This is a country were there are people with different beliefs and traditions, but at the end they are identified by their pride of being from South Africa.
