The play and the film The Crucible are an effective representation of each other in many ways. Throughout the film, many aspects of the play remain the same; however, the film contains more additions to give watchers a clearer picture of what is going on. Elizabeth Proctor was accused of sending her spirit to put a needle in the side of Abigail Williams' stomach. Men from Salem had come to the Putnam’s looking for a poppet, to which they then found a poppet Mary Warren had made for Elizabeth. “Why-He draws out a long needle from the poppet- it is a needle! Herrick, Herrick, it is a needle”
