Additionally, this permits Crocs to respond to unexpectedly high demands efficiently. Croc 's also an effective way of promoting their products which is another core competency …show more content…

It seems like the company did not completely think everything through since they appeared to just makes adjustments as business demands. I think moving forward, the opposite should be done. starting from their supply chain, leading up to production. Putting in perspective, even though delivery was dropped to 6 six in the business world, and especially for a booming business like Croc 's, time is money. Speed and efficiency are

In the effort to lock supplies of limited products, the company was seen ordering enormous quantities in advance. Another symptom of the problem was the artificially inflated projections. Other companies had noted the flaws in their projections, but Cisco failed to notice. This was because there existed other Competitors in the market that compromised Cisco’s projections since customers would turn to suppliers who would deliver the products first. To get started, we first need to understand what Crocs' value chain is and how that process plays a role in the strategic direction of the company. The authors of our text, views the value chain as "the entire series of organizational work activities that add value at each step, from raw materials to finished product. In its entirety, the value chain can encompass supplier's suppliers to the customer's customers"(Robbins & Coulter, 2009, p.430). At Crocs, the entire series of organization work activities may be broken down even further using Porter's value chain model of viewing a manufacturing (or service) primary and secondary activities as a "system made up of subsystems, each with inputs, transformation processes and outputs"(Ifm.eng.cam.ac.uk, 2011). A diagram, compliments of Porter(1985) can be seen below:
