Recommended: Violence against women research paper

Research Topics
During my journey towards a criminal justice degree, I have been enlightened on numerous interesting topics and issues in relation to the criminal justice field. In this course, I am given a chance to fully invest in research on an issue of my choice in relating to the criminal justice field. I will discuss my top 5 topics and issues I was thinking about proceeding with and whether or not I felt they could be measured. Then I will reveal which topic I will go forth with researching in depth and why I selected my chosen topic.
My 5 topic choices
The first topic that came to mind was the immigrant ban’s ability to deter terrorist attacks in the U.S. The reason why this was my first thought was this topic is along the lines of what I would like to do as a federal agent. The issue I with this topic is how new the ban is and there is very little quantitative data available to analyze. Although there are not many quantitative research available right now, there is plenty of qualitative out everyone has an opinion on it. I know this is a hot topic in the past few years with infamous cases such as the Eric Garner death. There is an abundance of statistics available from government websites like the Bureau of Justice Statistics. The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 mandates all law enforcement agencies to record and make available and data involving excessive use of force to the Attorney General("Use of Force," 2018). The data collected only serves the purpose of research and analysis and must be published yearly("Use of Force," 2018).
