One rather beautiful day I head down to the building fields of Uruk with my only son Urnabe. He is 14 and he is turning out to be a skilled mason or at least better than his old man. When we get there I see that Binfem was already waiting for me. "Namkuzu where have you been?! My legs are so tired from standing I can't even walk" "Don't worry, you'll live," I muttered. "Oh", he whispered. "You better get going then or else the boss will be furious." "Agreed," grunted Urnabe, as he went down to get his materials. "He is starting to become a skilled mason," said Binfem, while he went to get his equipment. "You should be proud," he said, as he went deeper into the woods until you could only see what seemed to look like a tall chubby man. So I did the same as Binfem. When I got there I saw my boss looking tired and frustrated; ready to scream at us just because of one little mistake and tell everybody at the top of his lungs what the person's flaws were. …show more content…
"Alright," he said, after everybody had already taken a seat on the floor.
"Jofen, Malah, Hulla, Shemush, and Nirgal, you will work on the left arm, and make it look exactly like King Gilgamesh; Mighty and powerful. So our boss went on assigning jobs until he got to my son and I. "Namkuzu, Zigan, Penzer, Binfem, Uanna, Shushi, and Ushar, you will work on the head and the rest of its
features." "Wait," I yelled, "What about my son," I asked, "We always worked together," "Don't worry," he said, "I think your son should take on some projects that require a little bit more of skill. So everybody goes to their designated place in the field and gets right to work. I have to confess I was worried about my son, but he already was becoming a man and a needed to let him soar, not hold him down to the ground. Time flew as I worked under the scorching sun; my back ached, but this time I didn't feel as tired, maybe it was because happy, but why? When lunchtime I came back to the main to check on my son. I called him so he could come out for lunch, but there was no answer. After looking for him for a while I saw him on the floor as if he was asleep I tried to wake him up, but he never even moved. Was he dead?! I ran to ask Binfem what happened and he told me that he died from exhaustion because our boss demanded the he should work even faster or else he would lose the job. I was furious. How could he have abused my son like that! 4 moons after Namkuzu's death I still cried and weeped so hard I could supply the whole village from the water that came out of my eyes. So I asked myself as I cried.

Once upon a time deep in a large forest there lived a woodchopper, his wife, and their two children, Hansel and Gretel. It was a beautiful forest, full of trees, flowers and butterflies and streams. Matter of fact, the family had everything they could ever want except for one little thing.
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
The desert sun beats down on her as she runs. She has never had to run like this in her life. She is fast, but they are faster, and it’s only moments until they realize she is gone.
Friday Evening Alaric occupies a familiar stool at the Grill; a sulky, raven-haired vampire beside him, filling him in on recent developments. “So apparently this Elijah asshole is one of the originals, and Klaus is the original, original.” “So, old then. And apparently hard to deal with.” “Right. Too hard,” Damon gestures with his drink, nearly sloshing amber liquid onto the bar top. “And Katherine says Klaus needs Elena because she’s from the ‘Petrova’ line?” “Because she’s The Petrova Döpleganger. Whatever the hell that means.” “Ok, there’s something I don’t get here though. Rose, I kind of understand giving her the benefit of the doubt. She’s done nothing to indicate duplicity here. But Katherine? Why should we believe anything she says?” “It jives with what Rose knows, and explains why she was so keen on getting to Elena in the first place.

partially due to the fact that I rarely left my house, but mainly because I spent my freshman and sophomore, and half of my junior year buried under cooking books in the school library during lunch instead of socializing with my peers—Ice queen, they called me.
Eden considered herself a master of the death stare, and it shut people up most of the time. Black-ringed eyes, wide and uninviting--it's what she excelled at. Her stare said: "don't even dream of talking to me."
As she sat on the floor, Hulga took a minute to think about what had just happened. After a while she came to the realization that she had been tricked and now she has to do something about it. She sat there and tried to formulate a plan of action, and she eventually decided that she would need to find something to help her walk. Now that Hulga knew what she needed to accomplish, it was time for her to put her plan in motion.
The safe house that Cain had picked out had been built in the early 50's. Originally a small jailhouse, it had been abandoned in 1975 when the King commissioned for the Wayland Penitentiary to be built. The jailhouse, while small, had been built over a series of evacuation tunnels dug deep underground. They weren't used by anyone other than the Knights and the Red Hoods—the King had condemned it with the closing of the jailhouse, deeming the tunnels unsafe for use.
Spitz was now gone after Buck attacked him. I heard the cries and whimpers, the snarls and the growls of the whole fight. It was horrific. I wasn’t able to sleep anyways.I had pains sometimes and while it was uncomfortable, it was bearable and I didn’t want anyone to think I wasn’t well enough to run,no one would take my spot!

Frozen silence of a winter's dawn, matted brown pine needles peaking out of a powdery white carpet frosted trees sagging from the weight of last night's snowfall. Large flakes fell from heaven as if the angels were having a pillow fight and the goose down fell to our humble homes. Though beautiful the snow was cold and sharp as it bit at our fingers and the wind kissed the people's cheeks in the stunning forest. Like a wolf the snow bit at our fingers with its sharp icy teeth. How rare it is for the first time for such a still place to be when we ourselves are so busy in our minds that there is somewhere which can only listen. The whip slapped the huskies, pulling the sleds into motion. They stopped in the forest for rest by a homeless
November 25, 2012. That day, or should I say night that changed everything. My best friend/sister of six years decided she no longer wanted to be friends with me. She looked me in the eye and said, “It’s just not the same.” Most people would say that’s not such a big deal, it happens all the time. In most situations it wouldn’t have been a big deal but that night I would soon realize that my life was going to spiral out of control and I was going to witness a domino effect like no other.
