Coordinated Community Response
The Coordinated Community Response (CCR) was implemented to prevent women from becoming revictimized with abuse. There is not a formal plan or protocol for implementing CCR. Local officials unite and work towards helping a battered victim to work towards putting a stop to IPV. The purpose of CCR is to allow multiple agencies to collaborate to work with the needs of the client. For example, if a woman is being battered and wants to leave her situation, it is likely that she will need protection from various agencies such as law enforcement, social services, and housing resources. The establishment of programs is vital however, the collaborative works of cross sector agencies becomes pivotal towards reducing domestic violence. Praxis is an organization that advocates to make changes among systems which involves the safety and accountability audit process (Wynn, 2010). The safety and accountability audit involves ensuring that laws, protocols, procedures, and resources within the organizations are centered towards the needs of battered women. The sole purpose of the audit is to address any discrepancies and to solve them as they are found. The audit is aimed towards making positive changes within an organization that will benefit woman in an abusive situation. In addition, it is important to notate that several law enforcement agencies, social services agencies, and legal institutions across the world have implemented the safety and accountability audit (Dasgupta, 2010). Accountability must be assessed and measured in order to ensure the effectiveness of the programs being used in order to help prevent and alleviate abuse towards women. He is an educator, author, and activist. He strives towards bringing awareness and eliminating intimate partner violence (IPV) through his books and lectures. Kutz founded the Mentors in Violence Prevention Program (MVP) which aims at putting a stop to IPV through educating and providing trainings. Kutz’s (2006) developed the notion “the macho paradox” which portrays that IPV is a man’s problem as “macho” means masculinity, aggressive, and prideful in Spanish. For centuries, abuse has been deemed as a woman’s problem and Kutz argues that it is not a woman’s problem. Kutz (2006) argues the research illustrates that “over 99 percent of rape is perpetrated by men” (p.5). Therefore, given the statistic clearly, it’s a mans problem according to Kutz’s.
