Domestic Violence in The State of Texas

Domestic violence seems to be a never-ending problem from state to state with every state having its fair share of domestic violence. The Texas Council on Family Violence was formed to serve three focal points when dealing with domestic violence in the State of Texas implementing prevention programs that are focused in ending the root cause of domestic violence, providing victim services of domestic violence and promoting support to victims and the violent offenders to help them deal with their issues in domestic violence. The Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) channels their focus on ensuring that any type of family violence is handled properly and that services needed by both victim and aggressor are provided to prevent reoccurring issues with interventions and prevention programs to help with issues in the community if needed. The Texas council on Family Violence prides them selves though encouragement, encouraging the pursuit of education, and offering information and resources on family violence to every person willing to accept the help. The State of Texas and TCFV along with the city of Houston have recently hosted a program called “Partner to Protect: A Leadership Summit for Family Violence Programs and Law Enforcement.” This conference was formed to help victim advocates and law enforcement come up with better ways to respond to family violence in the community. The summit allowed advocated and law enforcement to share their expertise on domestic violence while explaining the in’s and out’s of associated with their jobs in order to help victims better understand any type of flaws that could happen during and emergency situation.
