In January 1, 1863; Paris, France, Pierre Baron de Coubertin was born to the French Aristocracy. Pierre de Coubertin is known as the founder of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). However, before being the creator of the IOC, Pierre de Coubertin was a French professor and historian. Coubertin was extremely unlucky due to his first hand witnessing of his homeland falling to Germany. This incident had a tremendous impact on Coubertin, he believed that due to the lack of physical education, his country was not prepared to defend itself. It was from this idea that led him to commence his studies on physical education and its importance. On the other hand, the other side who contributed significantly to the upbringing of soccer in France was Pierre Baron de Coubertin who was one of the primary supporters of the adoption of football in France. Although he is primarily known as the founder of the Olympics, he accomplished such goal by rallying the small football enthusiast community living in France. With the collaboration of Coubertin and the French football fanatic, France was able to slowly establish significant football organizations. The most influential football organizations established by France were the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the Union of European Football Association (UEFA), European Club competitions, European Nations Championship, and the World Cup, most of which still are in existence to this day and are more powerful and popular than ever before. Although all of this became a reality, football had to experience a difficult path before becoming what it is today, most of which took place in France. Local governments had the same mentality as Coubertin, who believed that physical education was necessary in the country, the French government started to emphasize and promote to their youth in all socioeconomic classes. It was after the extensive promotion of football that younger males became interested and soon the first French football club was established.
