Aspects of human development, individual wellbeing, and sociological and environmental factors are important basis for devising appropriate interventions in casework. How could describe the family member’s level of wellbeing in terms of biological, psychosocial, spiritual and social and economic areas. The family member’s well being in terms of biology, psychosocial, spiritual and social. Tara has a history of drug use and a long history of schizophrenia that is managed with medication. Without medication her behavior changes, she takes the children away from her grandparents and leaves them at her friend’s house. Without insight into the effects of her illness this causes her to behave and act in such a way and it affe... ... middle of paper ... ... that you would need to take as the case officer to plan the family case closure. Identify cultural, contextual elements that you must consider in the family’s case before closing the case. The steps I would take to plan closure include reviewing the case to inform the decision and then discussing the case with a colleague, supervisor and organizational workers. I would also talk through the decision with the child, and family to ensure they understand what is about to happen ensuring that organizational policies and procedures are adhered to, including record keeping and issuing of correspondence. 13. Describe how you would ensure subsequent monitoring and evaluations of the program. What steps can you put in place if the family needs assistance in the future? I would ensure subsequent monitoring and evaluations of the program by keeping files and using strategies.
I think that the best and most effective way to implement the process would be to add in past information or data in the system, doing this will help because when old information is keyed into the system, it would help the system get used to the data that is being input into the system. This will definitely make new and upcoming data being added to the system becomes faster, accurate and efficient and also the work will be easier for the ...

Child welfare system was originated with the goals that social workers would try and alleviate poverty and its impact; however as the years have passed, the child welfare system turned into a child protection system directed toward investigating abuse and neglect, and removing children from families and placing them in foster care, and is no longer prepared to assist in resolving the problems of child poverty (Lindsey, 2004). Child welfare system has been developed around the residual approach which demands that aid should be given only after the family is in crisis or other support groups have failed to meet a child’s minimal needs. However, over the years, there have been different focuses for the child welfare system, whether it involved
The importance of family partnership meetings (FPM) or sometimes called family team meetings, is well established. Studies about FPM as an engagement tool in the foster care system indicates that engagement is an important component to achieving permanency for foster children (Crampton, Usher, Wildfire, Webster, & Cuccaro-Alamin, 2011; Boldis, & Tomlinson, 2014). It has been demonstrated that FPM increases biological family members’ participation in permanency planning (Crampton, Usher, Wildfire, Webster, & Cuccaro-Alamin, 2011; Gladstone et al., 2012; Montserrat, López, Bravo, & del Valle, 2013). Permanency is more likely to be long term when biological families are active members of the FPM (Boldis, & Tomlinson,
The family unit is recognized as an importance in the field of social work. If a family is in need of temporary assistance, social workers are in full support of this, because
Friedman Family Assessment Method is a very helpful tool for assessing a family. It assesses the social, spiritual, physical, and psychological, among other aspects of a family. Analysis of the assessment data using the Friedman model, allow nurses to develop a plan to improve family health and to live a healthy life. The assessment of the Smith’ family was a great experience as it exposes one to different aspects of community health.
The Family-Centered approach to care is important to the delivery of behavioral health services for children and adolescents because it involves the families in their natural environments and allows the families to make decisions about their care. It promotes home and community based care by creating an equal partnership with the family to ensure optimal delivery of care at all levels (Brewer, McPherson, Magrab, & Hutchins, 1989). For children with special health care needs, such as mental or developmental disorders, coordinating care between all services and people can help to introduce flexible and reasonable ways of providing the maximum amount of care to children and families (Brewer, McPherson, Magrab, & Hutchins, 1989).
In this documentary, it was clear that Millie’s mental illness took a toll on her family’s dynamic. Millie was not diagnosed with a mental disorder until much later on in her life. At that point, her family was already destroyed. Millie and her husband went through a divorce. The two daughters were left to live with their mother. The girls did not know any other way of life, so they thought the lives they lived with their mother were just like lives other children had with their parents.
Previously, interview procedures were conducted on any client, regardless of background differences. Overtime it was noted that hearings were not fair to children due to them lacking the ability to follow and understand these interview procedures. New guidelines were instilled where the proceeding was designed
In the Oxford English dictionary the definition of wellbeing is “a state of being healthy, happy or prosperous; physical, psychological and moral welfare.” In correlation with KE 206 module, wellbeing is indeed all these things but also how they shape and influence the lives of children and young people. The wellbeing of children and young people can be understood objectively and subjectively. Objectively, the wellbeing of children and young people can be understood by looking at and measuring basic needs in life food shelter and safety. According to Goldenberg and Goldenberg (2013), these roles “become rigid, narrowly defined, or stereotyped—or shift rapidly, causing confusion” (p.177). As a CBT family therapist I could work on these schemas and the roles the family has to disrupt the discord and bring a more positive outcome for their problems. Also I would work with families and couples to change their unrealistic expectations about their relationship with one another in order to decrease any destructive mechanisms that are maladaptive to their therapy. In order to continue therapy at home, I would incorporate homework assignments in therapy to my clients that was CBT based in nature (i.e., the use of a diary or journal).
An Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) provides intervention for children from birth to the age of three years. Normally, IFSP is centered around the family; providing services to the child and the entire family. This includes early intervention, help find services with other providers, transportation, and family training sessions. According to Friesen and Koroloff (1990) it is necessary to meet the needs of the child and family; including services from education, health and social service agencies as well as informal networks and resources. IFSPs are developed by collaborating with the parents, service coordinator, a member of the MDT, administration or district representative, and service providers.
...ut the children at further risk especially Sasha as she is at an age where it is easy for her to be hidden from services. The common assessment framework is a useful tool for professionals to assess and evaluate the risk factors posed to a child which may lead to them suffering harm. Taking into account the family circumstances, the likely course of action would be to initiate s.47 of the Children’s act 1989. A strategy meeting will be organized involving professional and services most involved with the family, roles of each professional would be discussed within the meeting and the next appropriate step of action for the family. If it is decided the children are still likely to suffer harm a child protection conference would be organised, the conference will enable the correct intervention to be provided to the family in order to minimize the risk to the children.
