The conflict perspective is primarily writings from Karl Marx’s about the class struggles.

Conflict perspective main focus is the positive aspects of the society. This perspective focuses in the negative, conflicted, and the ever changing nature of society. There social conflicts between gender, racial, religious , economic and political. There is conflicting values and agendas that cause them to compete from one to another. The conflicts form basis of ever ending of the society. According to the conflict perspective, society is competing for resources like leisure, money , sexual partner. The competition over consensus is being characterised as human relationships.

There is an argument in the conflict theories they argue that the stratification is harmful and dysfunctional in society. In conflict theory, the social stratification is that they benefit the ones that are rich and powerful at the expense of the poor. This creates a system that considered the winners and the losers and it is maintained to those who are on the top.The ones that are considered the losers do not have a chance to compete and they are stuck in the bottom. The government promotes capitalism in corporate welfare and tax breaks. They believe that the markets will benefit the rich by making their way to the poor by the competition. For example, Wal-mart owner are the ones that receive many tax breaks. The tax breaks are questionable, if they are a way to benefit employees or made their way down to ordinary people through better business practices. Conflict perspectives would argue that they are just trying to make the wealthy people
