There have been many adaptations of Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. One of the most known versions is The Lion King. To start, Scar and Claudius kill the Kings in very different ways. Another way is that they are revealed to be the antagonist in other fashions. They also both talked about how Hamlet or Simba had gotten in the way of them having the crown. The last being that they did what they did for two completely different reasons. The characters in the Lion King and Hamlet, Claudius and Scar are both similar but they are also different.
To start, Scar and Claudius kill the Kings in very different ways. To show this, when Hamlet sees the Ghost of his father he is told that he was murdered and that it was not by natural causes, “'Tis given out that, sleeping in my orchard, a serpent stung me. For example, when Hamlet goes to see the Ghost of King Hamlet he is told of how his father was killed, “Now, Hamlet, hear. 'Tis given out that, sleeping in my orchard, a serpent stung me. So the whole ear of Denmark is by a forgèd process of my death rankly abused. But know, thou noble youth, the serpent that did sting thy father’s life now wears his crown”(I.v.34-40). In this scene, King Hamlet is telling his son, Hamlet, that his uncle, Claudius had killed King Hamlet to become King and that he must get revenge on him. In the early part of the movie, there is a stampede and Mufasa was hanging from a cliff where Scar then throws him off after saying, "Long live the King!”, and when Simba returns to confront his uncle, Scar pins him down and confesses, "Here's MY little secret, I killed Mufasa.” The director shows the reveal of Mufasa's murder in two ways. He shows it to the audience in the first part of the movie and reveals it to the characters in the climax of the movie. The two antagonists both had their reasons for committing such a horrible act to their own
