Many people would not have the same point of view as their other counterpart in the same situation. From the events of the house robbery, I might not have the same perspective as my uncle or his family. I see the aftermath, but I did not witness the event that it occurred. In the Frankenstein novel, there were many point of views out of every character in Mary Shelley's novel. The novel shifts with the narration of Robert Walton to Victor Frankenstein to the creature. With each shift of perspective, the reader gains new information about both the facts of the story and the personalities of the respective narrators. The creature was supposed to be Victor’s greatest achievement. He proved that electricity can bring back and create life. When the creature took his first breath and standing on his own two feet, Victor realized how horrible his creation looked, and then abandoned it. Victor see the creature as a monster, but in the creature's perspective, he felt alone and in great pain from all the isolation and alienated by human beings. From killing Victor’s family and loved ones, Victor considered the creature as a threat against humanity; a monster with no moral ground and heart. In the perspective of the creature, he did that all for revenge. When Victor abandoned him, the creature had no guide to the world. His first day of life was not what he thought out. He was unable to distinguish light, sound, and smell. His first feelings was fear, depression, and isolation. He is like a child that has no guide of his emotions and how to adapt to the world. While Victor cared for his reputation and status, the creature wanted was care and a mate to rescue him from his loneliness and isolation in a world that abhors and abuses him. The creature at times felt he wished he wasn’t created. When the creature analyzed the De lacy family from afar, he felt soothing, and discovers the devotion of love. This is the first time the creature felt this sensation and what is like to become human: relief over pain, warmth over cold, and this feeling of happiness. He seen the bright side of humanity. He “felt sensations of a peculiar and overpowering nature; they were a mixture of pain and pleasure, such as I had never before experienced, either from hunger or cold, warmth or food; and I withdrew from the window, unable to bear these emotions.” He finally made a presence of the De Lacy family.
