Luck is a very thin wire between desire and disaster, and not many people can keep their balance on it, declares Hunter S. Thompson, journalists, and author. There are multiple situations where people are trapped in the wilderness, some of them were documented in books, and some were in real life. Dogs have an instinct that helps them survive in the wilderness, nonetheless, a human may still keep their humanity, even though they realize that they could be trapped. Our primordial instincts take over when survival is on the line but, in contrast, humans may control themselves.

According to page fifty-four in White Fang, “at first, he snarled and tried to fight.” White Fang tries to use his instinct, but he was “very young”, this fact helps proves that this instinct was primordial, because he had it since youth. White Fang’s survival was on the line because a weasel had a plan to eat him for dinner. The mother weasel had a life-threatening grip on White Fang, but alas, his mother, Kiche, comes snapping through. Referring to page twenty-nine of White Fang, “ White Fang, who struck with the certainty and swiftness of a coiled snake.” But White Fang had an incentive for this since White Fang had experienced beatings with a club by his previous owners, of whom he was prudent of. He did not understand that Weedon Scott was slowly trying to dismantle the walls he had around his emotions, he was unaware that Weedon Scott was hospitable.
