Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton’s Different Views For America’s Future. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton did in fact have very different ideas for America’s future and where they would like to see their new government and country go in the years ahead. They were definitely two separate people in which their ideas didn’t clash most of the time, but they did help make the United States of America what it is today. With their title of the Founding Fathers of America, they did live up to that title. Thomas Jefferson was an educator, author, and lawyer. His main beliefs/ ideas for America’s future were to focus on farming and increasing our economy that way. And still today, the basic human that lives in the United States is allowed to speak up and question the government and its ideals. The American Revolution was one of the biggest events the Enlightenment influenced in which with the ideas, America fought against Great Britain to gain their independence from them and become their own country. They wanted to have their own government that wasn’t out of control like they thought Great Britain’s was, with a king. They didn’t want to feel like they had no control over what was said or done, so with the ideas fresh from the Enlightenment they gathered many people and fought against them. Also, in courts today, each defendant has the ability to defend their case by using logic and evidence. This was another idea in the Enlightenment that there should be logical debate and fair treatment of humans. Another idea that is similar to that is that everyday many people, in the government and out of the government, are thinking of how to better the world and our country as a whole. For example, how we can make the Earth a greener place, how to make more money from more reliable and economically friendly sources. People everyday are becoming more and more resourceful with what we have as a country to make it better. Finally, being able to speak out freely and everyone being treated fairly/ equally today is a very substantial difference from when the first enlightenment ideas were spoken about by John Locke and Charles Montesquieu. They would be very happy to see where our country has come from
