His family was well known throughout the country for their work on the palaces of the royal family. Bin Laden was raised in a home that followed a strict moral and religious code, until his parents separated. Him and his mother moved in with her new husband, and Osama started thriving at one of the most prestigious high schools in the area. In his early teens, bin Laden was recognized as an exemplary and outstanding student. Because of his performance, he was invited to join a study group full of esteemed young men. The group was organized to memorize the Koran, but eventually, fell from that original purpose, and instead fell into the teachings of the violent jihad. Influenced by a small sect in the Islam religion, the teacher began to instruct the young men on the “importance of instituting a pure, Islamic law” (Osama bin Laden), as well as becoming very observant in keeping the holy word, “even if it meant supporting death and destruction” (Osama bin Laden). Because of the teachings, the boys began to accept the ideas of jihad, spread their ideas throughout the school, and influence others to learn more. Osama was wed at the end of his teenage years to his cousin, graduated from school, and started at a nearby university to acquire a degree in public administration. Soon after receiving his degree, bin Laden rushed to help Afghanistan, who had been invaded by the Soviet Union. Bin Laden was selected to train a group of Islamic jihadists, and developed many leadership traits while doing

Without doubt, their belief of nationalism laid the foundation for Gandhi’s and Ho’s activities against imperialistic forces, influenced by their early-life experience. Gandhi’s family background with religiosity shaped his meticulous adherence to truth and his conscientiousness. It contributed a lot to the liberation of India, which Gandhi deemed as religious duty. On the other hand, Ho was born in an environment packed with anti- French sentiment. Being a patriotic dissenter, his father was
Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1957 and he was surrounded by 49 brothers and sisters. His family was really rich because of his father who was a billionaire, and owned one of the biggest construction companies of the kingdom. Bin Laden attended a high leveled school during his childhood, which combined British style secular education with Islamic worship. During his college years, he went to King Abd Al University to study four different courses: civil engineering, public administration, business and economics. In the 1970’s, when he was only 17 years old, bin Laden married his first cousin, and later on married three other women (marrying several times was permitted among Muslims). From a little age, Osama was religiously committed, and whenever his father hosted hundreds of pilgrims during the Hajj, bin Laden had a great time getting to know the gatherers and making new contacts. (A Biography of Osama Bin Laden) Due to influences and strong conviction, this young boy, when reached adulthood, became a terrorist and high threat to many countries, especially America. Osama bin Laden, a fugitive terrorist, was finally caught and killed on May 2, 2011 with the cooperation of Obama and the Navy SEALs bringing peace and closure to American citizens as well as political acknowledgement.
By definition the word character means moral or ethical quality. My definition of character is that what defines you as a person, your personality and how you act but to have a good character you have to have honesty, courage and integrity and generally being a role model to others. There are so many people out there that have goals that would not only benefit them but would benefit everyone around them and some of those people are Gandhi, Martin Luther king Jr. and Malala Yousafzai. These are just the few people who help me shape my ideas of character but also as a person. They fight for what they think/thought was right without any violence but they use powerful words and hey speak the truth we all deserve to be equals. They all had the
Chris McCandless was had an adventurous, young spirt that drove him into the wild. His kindred soul was a leading force into a journey designed to find himself. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless left society behind, trading a familiar scenery for the unknown. Mahatma Gandhi was a peaceful creature by habit, whose drive in life was to teach others how to live in peace. He wanted the world to learn to love, trying to have a positive impact on all who walked through his life. In many ways, Chris McCandless and Mahatma Gandhi are like, and in the same amount of ways are different.
Bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia either in 1957 or in 1958 (Davis 1). Thesis: Actions, beliefs, and patience are characteristics that are comparable in both the lives of Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.
Bin Laden had been persuaded into the Muslim Brotherhood at the age of 14. He studied/practiced religion for most of his time, but he was also an avid reader. Osama soon became a terrorist and felt hate towards Americans.
Mahatma Gandhi's Influence and Ideas Mahatma Gandhi was a man of faith and great conviction. He was born into an average Hindu family in India. Like most teenagers he had a rebellious stage when he smoked, spent time with girls and ate meat (forbidden to strict Hindus). The young Gandhi changed as a person while earning a living as a lawyer in South Africa. He came in contact with the apartheid and the future Mahatma began to emerge, one who championed the truth through non-violent resistance.
Gandhi was a great man in a lot of ways he was born on October 2, 1869 in Western India. At the age of thirteen he married Kasturbi who was also thirteen before his father died. When he did his mother sent him to law school in England this was in 1888. While he was there he fell in love so to speak with the nonviolent ways of the Hindu scriptures of the Bhagavad-Gita, and in the bible tellings of Jesus.
Both Nelson Mandela and Malala Yousafzai are known for their devotion to human rights advocacy. During their lives, they have spoken up about social issues and taken matters into their own hands. I chose them because, in my opinion, they are both examples of great courage and commitment to important causes. Furthermore, I truly respect and admire the way they have achieved great changes in the world.
