The role of the prophets Muhammad and Jesus was to be messengers of God. They both had different Gods but had the same idea of what their God had said to them. For example, Muhammad like stated in the Qur’an is the messenger of Allah. Jesus on the other hand is the messenger of God in the bible. They’re mission was to spread the word to everyone of what God commanded to them. The prophet’s purpose was to explain the plan and purpose of God and inform other individuals about it. When comparing both Muhammad and Jesus there are similarities and differences in the role that they both played and what they believed. One similarity that both Prophets have in common is they believe in only one true God. Muhammad for instance, only believes in Allah, which he describes as a divine individual over anyone else. They both had different views on it, which Muhammad took a more violent approach in these situations. According to William J Federer a nationally known author, “Muhammad sent Abdullah to use diplomacy to gain an opportunity to assassinate Sofyan. Abdullah went forth, pretending to be on his Sofyan’s side, and when the moment was right, cut off his head… (Sirat Rasul Allah).” Muhammad didn’t tolerate individuals if they wanted to committee violence against him. He clearly shows how he can be aggressive, when provoked and isn’t t afraid to send someone to assassinate an individual. In the contrary Jesus was more peaceful compared to Muhammad. Jesus never was willing to get someone killed for his or her wrong doings towards him.
