With this in mind, you must acknowledge that even though it is fulfilling going to a cinema to watch a movie and watching a movie at home the two do differ in terms of their overall entertainment, quality, and cost. Individuals choose to watch a movie as an activity. Some may prefer to go to a cinema to take in a new release or wait to watch it in the comfort of their own home. A social atmosphere is present when choosing to take in a movie at the cinema. Most likely, it’s a date night with your spouse, with friends or a family event. Other mediums such as still picture and theatrical play also provide the visual and aural elements for the spectator, yet they seem to be inferior to the motion picture in that they lack the reality, affinity, and creativity in terms of use of time and space. The levels of emotions such as attention, memory, imagination, emotion, and unity, which were introduced by Munsterberg, indicates how the spectator perceives the elements of the film and ends up with it.

Not only in America, but in other countries, movies always come in the first place of entertaining activities for many people, and it also has become a major entertainment or habit in our society. Besides of entertainment, some movies also educate people about many things such as places, politics, loves, and so on. After the long hard works, movies help to refresh the mind and to relax for many people. Some people prefer to go to theaters because of its sound system and big screen, but some prefer to watch at home. I always prefer to watch at home because of convenience, intimate, and cost. In your opinion, which is fun? Watching in theaters? Or watching at Home? People have to decide whether they want to go to the theater or at home. It isn’t a hard thought, but its similarities, pro, or con of watching in the theater or at home could be a decision for people. Watching movies in the theater and at home has some similarities, but the differences between watching in the theater and at home are cost and convenient.
In a movie theater, there are experiences that some will not have while at home and watching Netflix, such as the enormous screen, comfortable movie theater seating, and the theater speakers. Netflix can be used in a causal way with friends, but the main purpose of watching a movie is enjoying the experiences one can get from the movie itself. While at the movie theaters, the environment is completely different, because everyone is supposed to be quiet or else they risk being thrown out. The experience does not compare to the feeling someone gets when that intense scene appears, and they get immersed into the atmosphere of the theater. Movie theaters have the opportunity to give someone an unforgettable experience unlike Netflix, because the ambiance is truly unique and unmatched by anyone’s living
Many people go to the movies. The movies are an escape into a fantasy world. Everyone has a different preference on what kind of movie is the best. Romance, horror, action, and comedy are different types of movies. The kind of movie someone goes to see can give clues to what kind of person they are.

Socially educated parents are more likely to make decisions based on updated information, whereas parents, who lack higher education or have less education, make decisions without getting the background information. Demand for movies could be dependent on this factor. Also, people who have a more prestigious job reputation or social reputation can influence demand. These people carry this prestige because of the ways that society views their characteristics either as a group or as an individual. People that own homes may be more likely to attend movies rather than renters. In Canada, the population is aging. The age for the average movie-goer is increasing.
Going to the movies is probably one of the most enjoyable pastimes throughout the world. From western society to the Asian countries, watching movies is pleasant for nearly anybody. I currently work at the local cinema. Therefore I have decided to study the culture of moviegoers. I looked at many different aspects within the past months. I took time for myself in small, little, breaks to study and document the actions of the people. From their attitudes entering and leaving the cinemas, to the way they behaved and even the way they clothed themselves. I will be going into the field with a general question in mind of what I wish to learn. “How do individuals respond to each other in a moving going experience?” I will also look into how families communicate to each other compared to how a group of friends interact. In contrast to that outsider or etic outlook at our moviegoers, I will take an insider or emic perspective of the site and actually go out on my days off work and watch a movie portraying an actual moviegoer while no one in this culture within Stars will suspect a thing.
Across the globe watching movies started as an asylum for the working class, but slowly the ideas being portrayed onscreen have evolved resulting in movie going to become almost religious. Movies have the ability to leave us in awe as a result of their ability to give us a glimpse of a dream, however unrealistic. I myself am a huge fan of the film industry. I started to feel a certain reverence for it because of the way it inspired me to dream and gave birth to my ambitions. This ultimately led to me to go into an in depth investigation of whether I was the only one who felt this way and what affects had been created because of this feeling.
The answer is beautifully summarized by Academy Award winner actor Jack Nicholsen, in one of his speech during Oscar award ceremony, “… they entertain us; they offer hopes (and) give traumas; they take us places, we never been, just even for few moments; they can take us away, when we want to get away; Movies inspire us; they challenge us and despite our differences, they are (the) common link to humanity, in all of us.” In my opinion, this statement is the true reflection of the reason, why people love to watch movies. Movies allow us to escape. But there is a value in this escapism, its more than simple eluding.
Nevertheless, the question at hand is whether theatre will have a role in the society of the future, where cinema, digital television, and computers will continue to expand and grow. The answer to this question is yes. Heading into the 21st century, theatre will only be a fraction in a solid media industry. However, despite all the excitement technology brings with it, they will never replace theatre because it has something that can not be recreated or offered anywhere else. The cinema and its larger than life world appeals as an affordable alternative. Digital television provides digital interaction between the viewer and the producer. Theatre on the other hand, and its contents may take on a larger dimension, but we receive it directly in flesh and blood – one to one. The magical atmosphere between an actor and spectator who are constantly aware of each other and the theatre’s level of engagement is fundamentally more human and far more intimate.
A movie theater has its advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that people can see the showing of different movies that have been newly released. The disadvantage is that, that is all there is to it and nothing more. At home, you can control the variety and ways to watch a movie. People buy many movies to watch at home and it can be anything at any time even at any place. The only bad thing about it is that they cannot see any of the newest released movies that recently came out in theaters. There are two types of ways people watch movies at their homes. One way is people already own DVDs or have bought many of them and start watching them in their DVD players. The other ways are streaming a movie through the internet. For this to happen, people would mainly buy the monthly subscriptions such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime. Through this subscription people do not only watch movies in their homes but they also watch television shows. The only downside is there is a very limited number of movies added onto these
"Books and movies are like apple and oranges. They both are fruit, but taste completely different.” said Stephen King (goodreads.com). It is indeed true, books and movies have several common things and yet have differences. They both give us the same story, but are viewed completely different. Reading books and watching movies are similar as they both tell a story and give details and information about the story. Reading books or watching movies gives the reader and the viewer the same feeling and emotions about the story. People can feel gloomy or pleased with the story after reading a book or watching a movie. Both books and movies have the same general concepts, which are the themes and main characters of
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn” (Gone with the Wind Movie). “…Life’s a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get” (Forrest Gump Movie). “You’re killin’ me smalls” (The Sandlot Movie). These are some movie quotes from some fairly well known films. They have meaning because one is unique, another is clever, and the other one is amusing. If it’s an influential quote, audiences will remember it because it affected them in either a positive or negative way. Movies have been around since the early 20’s and have become a big part of modern society. Everyone can relate to at least one movie, because of how diverse they are. Since everyone can relate to a movie, it’s safe to say that movies can be pretty influential. Some areas where films have made an influence are storytelling, entertainment, and culture.
